    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Optical microscopy; Fluorescence Microscopy; Multi-dimensional imaging; Material sciences; Optical Trapping; Single-molecule imaging and tracking; Single-molecule spectroscopy;

    Sammanfattning : Optical microscopy has revolutionized the way we understand our world and has become a crucial tool in a range of disciplines such as biology, physics, chemistry, and material sciences. The development of new microscopy techniques has been capital to its success and wide applicability. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Quantitative methods for diffusion measurements in fluorescence microscopy

    Författare :Marco Longfils; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; cross-validation.; single particle tracking; Confocal laser scanning microscopy; raster scan; correlation spectroscopy; mixture models; diffusion;

    Sammanfattning : In this work, statistical methods are developed for mapping mass transport locally based on images collected using a confocal laser scanning microscope. Besides presenting raster image correlation spectroscopy as an established method in fluorescence microscopy, we introduce a single particle tracking method which takes advantage of the raster scanning of the image in a confocal microscope. 3. 23. Cellular Uptake of Amyloid Forming Proteins Related to Neurodegenerative Disease

    Författare :Emelie Vilhelmsson Wesén; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Aβ 1-40 ; flow cytometry; confocal microscopy; SH-SY5Y; fluorescence; Aβ 1-42 ; Alzheimer’s disease; amyloid fibril; α-synuclein; amyloid-β;

    Sammanfattning : Aggregation and deposition of disease-associated protein is a pathological hallmark of several human disorders, including Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and Parkinson’s disease (PD). These diseases are characterized by the formation of amyloid-β (Aβ) and α-synuclein (α-syn) amyloid fibrils, in extracellular and intracellular locations, respectively. LÄS MER

  4. 24. 3D super-resolution microscopy of living cells using reversibly switchable fluorophores

    Författare :Andreas Bodén; Ilaria Testa; Francisco Balzarotti; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; RESOLFT; 3D imaging; super-resolution; microscopy; reversibly switchable fluorescent proteins; Biological Physics; Biologisk fysik;

    Sammanfattning : Traditional optical microscopy techniques are limited in spatial resolution due to the wave nature of light. This means that neighboring objects separated by a distance smaller than about 200 nm cannot be distinguished. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Lightguiding of Fluorescence in Nanowires : Principles, Optimization and Implementation for Biosensing

    Författare :Damiano Verardo; NanoLund: Centre for Nanoscience; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Nanowires; Biosensing; Fluorescence microscopy;

    Sammanfattning : Due to their unique optical properties, III-V nanowires are promising candidates for the development of efficient solar cells, LEDs and nanoscaled lasers. The interaction of nanowires with fluorescent molecules is also of interest, as these nanostructures can act as nanoscaled optical fibers. LÄS MER
