1. Study on some phenomena of slag in steelmaking process
Sammanfattning : The present work is to study slag phenomena in steelmaking process. In order to attain thegoal, a number of high temperature experiments and simulation experiments were carried out. Four master slags were used to study the effect of CaF2 on slag viscosity. LÄS MER
2. The influence of inertia on the rotational dynamics of spheroidal particles suspended in shear flow
Sammanfattning : Dispersed particle flows occur in many industrial, biological and geophysical applications. The knowledge of how these flow behave can for example lead to improved material processes, better predictions of vascular diseases or more accurate climate models. LÄS MER
3. Modelling of Bingham Suspensional Flow : Influence of Viscosity and Particle Properties Applicable to Cementitious Materials
Sammanfattning : Simulation of fresh concrete flow has spurged with the advent of Self-Compacting Concrete, SCC. The fresh concrete rheology must be compatible with the reinforced formwork geometry to ensure complete and reliable form filling with smooth concrete surfaces. LÄS MER
4. Investigation of Thermal Performance of Cylindrical Heatpipes Operated with Nanofluids
Sammanfattning : Nanofluids as an innovative class of heat transfer fluids created by dispersing nanometre-sizedmetallic or non-metallic particles in conventional heat transfer fluids displayed the potential toimprove the thermophysical properties of the heat transfer fluids. The main purpose of this study is toinvestigate the influence of the use of nanofluids on two-phase heat transfer, particularly on thethermal performance of the heat pipes. LÄS MER
5. Simulation of deformable objects transported in fluid flow
Sammanfattning : Deformable particles suspended in a viscous fluid can be found in many industrial and biological applications. In this thesis, two different numerical tools have been developed to simulate suspensions of capsules, thin membranes enclosing a second fluid and a rigid nucleus so to work as model for ”Eukaryotic” cells, and flexible slender bodies known as filaments/fibres.
