  1. 1. Characterization of Chimney Flue Gas Flows : Flow Rate Measurements with Averaging Pitot Probes

    Författare :Janne Paavilainen; Chris Bales; Jan-Olof Dalenbäck; Lennart Gustavsson; Högskolan Dalarna; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Flue gas; measurement; characterization; averaging Pitot tube; SolNET;

    Sammanfattning : Performance testing methods of boilers in transient operating conditions (start, stop and combustion power modulation sequences) need the combustion rate quantified to allow for the emissions to be quantified. One way of quantifying the combustion rate of a boiler during transient operating conditions is by measuring the flue gas flow rate. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Modeling of Gas Flows in Steelmaking Decarburization Processes

    Författare :Zhili Jack Song; Pär Jönsson; Seppo Louhenkilpi; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; VOD; nozzle; jet; vacuum; BOF; LD; AOD; post combustion; flue; CFD;

    Sammanfattning : The purpose of the current study is to increase the understanding of different steelmaking processes at the decarburization stages by use of mathematical modeling. More specifically, two De-Laval nozzles from a VOD (Vaccum Oxygen Decarburization) process, which is used for producing stainless steels with ultra-low carbon grades, was investigated for different vessel pressures. 3. 3. Never Heard Before: A Musical Exploration of Organ Voicing

    Författare :João Segurado; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; voicing; voicing; sound; listening; pipe; organ; tone; musical composition; musical performance; experimental; collaboration; artistic research; ethnography; musique concrète; transient; attack; steady-state; ; harmonic spectrum; languid; toe-hole; mouth; flue; reed; Studio Acusticum; Gerald Woehl; Piteå;

    Sammanfattning : This study describes the role of organ sounds in musical performance and exa- mines the visions and artistic perspectives of the voicer, who creates the sounds, and the organist, who uses them in performance. Organ pipe sounds are shaped in a process of gradual transformation called voicing, to suit the practice of musical performance, and they influence that practice in significant ways. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Sound generation in metal flue organ pipes: On the influence of asymmetric flue exit geometry and vibrations of the upper labium with particular emphasis on the early response

    Författare :Matthias Scholz; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :jet contraction; wall vibrations; CFD; jet velocity profile; tap tone; asymmetry of flue exits; operational deflection shapes; Coanda effect; yielding upper labium; modal analysis; bottom clamped cylinder; vibration measurements; metal flue organ pipes; dipole; initial jet formation;

    Sammanfattning : Sound generation in flue organ pipes is caused by the non-linear interaction between an instable jet and a tube resonator. Our understanding of this very complex physical process is still incomplete, and there is not yet a model that can explain all details of the richness in pipe sound which can be achieved by a trained organ pipe voicer.
