16. Regulation of Microvascular Blood Flow : a clinical and experimental study based on laser Doppler perfusion imaging
Sammanfattning : Local blood flow reflexes in the foot skin of healthy controls and in young diabetic patients with or without nerve dysfunction have been studied using laser Doppler perfusion imaging (LDPI). A neurophysiological follow-up study on nerve dysfunction is presented as a complerhent to the work on blood flow regulation in the young diabetics. LÄS MER
17. Architecture and Applications of a Geovisual Analytics Framework
Sammanfattning : The large and ever-increasing amounts of multi-dimensional, multivariate, multi-source, spatio-temporal data represent a major challenge for the future. The need to analyse and make decisions based on these data streams, often in time-critical situations, demands integrated, automatic and sophisticated interactive tools that aid the user to manage, process, visualize and interact with large data spaces. 18. Entrained flow gasification of biomass : On atomisation, transport processes and gasification reactions
Sammanfattning : Since the energy consumption in the world is increasing together with an increase of greenhouse gas emission it is of importance to find alternatives to fossil fuels. Biomass is one of the alternative energy sources which is both renewable and CO2 neutral. LÄS MER
19. Experimental Studies of Effusion Cooling
Sammanfattning : The desire to increase the efficiency of jet engines, has led to an increase in the temperature in the combustion chambers and in the turbine stage. There is thus an interest in efficient cooling methods. Film cooling and effusion cooling are often used where there is a great heat load. LÄS MER
20. Analysis of Turbulent Flows-From Chaos to Structure
Sammanfattning : The development of models for several phenomena occurring in turbulent single and multi-phase flows requires improved description and quantification of turbulent structures. Phenomena such as, for example, mixing, coalescence and break-up, are often fast and nonlinear. LÄS MER
