  1. 1. FRP shear strengthening of reinforced concrete beams

    Författare :Gabriel Sas; Giorgio Monti; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; fiber reinforced polymers; shear; reinforced concrete; strengthening; model; comparison; literature review; Structural Engineering; Konstruktionsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The shear failure mechanisms of flexural reinforced concrete (RC) members is highly complex; its precise details cannot be explained with simple analytical relationships, and are the topic of considerable scientific debate. The studies described and examined the three most used shear theories in the world – the fixed angle truss model (45°TM), the variable angle truss model (VAT), and modified compression field theory (MCFT). Författare :Jincheng Yang; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; interfacial stress; anchorage; mesh sensitivity; externally bonded; reinforced concrete; flexural strengthening; optimization; smeared length; finite element modeling; carbon fiber reinforced polymer CFRP ; stepwise prestressing; debonding;

    Sammanfattning : A large number of existing bridges in European countries are structurally deficient and functionally obsolete due to the deterioration of aging bridges and the lack of structural and geometric capacity to accommodate the increasing traffic volume and load levels. To meet the demand for holistic and effective strengthening techniques the SUREBRIDGE solution is proposed for the refurbishment of concrete bridges, which includes the technique of using prestressed carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) laminate as externally bonded reinforcement for flexural strengthening. 3. 3. Upgrading concrete bridges : post-tensioning for higher loads

    Författare :Jonny Nilimaa; Mohammad Al-Emrani; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Concrete; Bridges; Upgrading; Strengthening; Shear; Field testing; Post-tensioning; Prestressing; Structural Engineering; Konstruktionsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : There are a great number of old structures around the world, some of which were designed for completely different purposes than in their current application. Swedish railway bridges were for example only designed for maximum axle loads of 200 kN in the beginning of the 20th century, while the highest axle loads of today are twice as high. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Fibre reinforced polymers in civil engineering : flexural strengthening of concrete structures with prestressed near surface mounted CFRP rods

    Författare :Håkan Nordin; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Structural Engineering; Konstruktionsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Repair and/or upgrading of concrete structures with bonded steel or FRP (Fiber Reinforced Polymers) materials or by use of external tendons have been used for some time. In most cases the bonded on FRP materials are unstressed. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Strengthening reinforced concrete structures with FRP composites

    Författare :Jincheng Yang; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; GFRP; finite element analysis.; corrosion; interfacial stress; externally bonded reinforcement; self-anchorage; CFRP; debonding; concrete structures; Fibre reinforced polymer; prestressing level;

    Sammanfattning : Civil infrastructures made of reinforced concrete (RC) play an important role in the economic activities and services of society. However, signs of deterioration and functional deficiency are commonly found in existing RC structures. Thus, there is a great demand for upgrading the capacity and performance of existing concrete structures. LÄS MER
