  1. 1. Fisheries Management under Individual Transferable Quota : Outcomes for Ecology and Equity

    Författare :Maartje Oostdijk; Brynhildur Davidsdóttir; Gunnar Stefansson; Ingrid Stjernquist; Mary Wisz; Henrik Österblom; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Fisheries management; Individual transferable quota; common pool resources; Physical Geography; naturgeografi;

    Sammanfattning : The management of marine resources pose a difficult commons problem as monitoring behavior is difficult and benefit flows from the resources are uncertain. Implementing individual transferable quota (ITQ) is a management regime in which quasi-property rights are assigned for an often mobile and uncertain environmental resource, fish or marine invertebrates. 2. 2. Coral Reef Habitats and Fish Connectivity : Implications for coastal management and fishery

    Författare :Tove Lund Jörgensen; Michael Tedengren; Nick Graham; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; anthropogenic disturbance; coral reef habitat; fish community; coastal ecosystems; conservation management; spatial ecology; seascape perspective; holistic approach; marin ekotoxikologi; Marine Ecotoxicology;

    Sammanfattning : Coral reefs have one of the highest levels of biodiversity of all ecosystems in the world and are important for both human livelihood and food security throughout many tropical countries. However, due to increased anthropogenic pressure on marine ecosystems, especially during the last couple of decades, coral reefs have become critically over-fished, and many reefs are now in a degraded state and are facing additional future threats due to further over-exploitation, chemical pollution, sedimentation, and effects of climate change. 3. 3. The complexity of seafood trade relations across scales

    Författare :Laura G. Elsler; Maja Schlüter; Simon A. Levin; Anne-Sophie Crépin; Jennifer Jacquet; Stockholms universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : There is growing concern about the unprecedented rise in international seafood trade that relies on increasingly overused and climate-driven fisheries. Seafood trade relations, the multi-dimensional relations between fishers, traders, and countries for seafood exchange and other interactions, are central in the process of globalization. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Noble Crayfish (Astacus astacus) in a Changing World : Implications for Management

    Författare :Jenny K. M. Zimmerman; Thomas Palo; Nils Ekelund; Jostein Skurdal; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Noble crayfish Astacus astacus ; CPUE; climate change; water regulation; body growth; reintroduction; sustainable fishing; monitoring.;

    Sammanfattning : The noble crayfish (Astacus astacus) is critically endangered in Sweden. This is mainly due to the crayfish plague (Aphanomyces astaci), a lethal disease that, among other things, can be spread through the stocking of fish from contaminated water or contaminated fishing gear.
