  1. 6. Investigation of electrical and magnetic properties of nanoparticles and nanofibers with the aim to tailor material properties of nanocomposites

    Författare :Anna Jänis; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; microscopy; ferrite; SiC; nanocomposite; nanowire; microwave absorbing properties; network analyzer; nanoparticle;

    Sammanfattning : Nanocomposites are the subject of interest in this study which can be explained by the factum that using building blocks with dimensions in the nanosize range makes it possible to design and create new materials which can satisfy several functions at the same time for many applications. The applications of interest in this study belong to the microwave frequency region and for that reason a number of materials were investigated to define their microwave absorbing properties. 2. 7. Valuation of retention/formation relationships using a laboratory piot-paper machine

    Författare :Anna Svedberg; Lars Wågberg; Mikael Lindström; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Cellulose and paper engineering; Cellulosa- och pappersteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The interdependency between filler retention and paper formation is well-known, where a high retention is accompanied by impaired formation. A challenge for today’s papermakers is to increase the competitiveness for uncoated and coated fine paper, by improving the formation at the same level of retention. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Negative Pressure Wound Therapy. Therapy Settings and Biological Effects in Peripheral Wounds

    Författare :Ola Borgquist; Lund Institutionen för kliniska vetenskaper; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Negative pressure wound therapy; vacuum-assisted closure; wound healing;

    Sammanfattning : Negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) promotes wound healing through several mechanisms, e.g., altered periwound blood flow, mechanical deformation of the wound edge tissue, and drainage of excess fluid and debris. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Molecular Interactions and Dynamics in Lithium Conducting Electrolytes

    Författare :Josefina Adebahr; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; ab initio calculations; plastic crystals; nanocomposite polymer electrolytes; NMR; Raman spectroscopy; gel electrolytes; polymer electrolytes;

    Sammanfattning : Lithium conducting electrolytes, suitable for battery applications, have been characterized on a molecular level using Raman spectroscopy, ab initio calculations and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, in order to better understand molecular and ionic interactions and dynamics in the systems. Three different types of electrolytes have been investigated; polymer gel electrolytes, solid polymer electrolytes and plastic crystal materials, with the main focus on the polymer based electrolytes. 5. 10. Chloride transport and chloride threshold values : studies on concretes and mortars with Portland cement and limestone blended cement

    Författare :Dimitrios Boubitsas; RISE; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Cement; Mortar; Concrete; Corrosion; Reinforcement; Chloride ions;

    Sammanfattning : Reinforced concrete is one of the most widely used building materials and if it is properly designed and produced, it is an extremely durable material with a service life up to 100 years. However, under certain environmental conditions the service life of reinforced concrete structures is more limited. LÄS MER
