  1. 11. Development of laser spectroscopy for scattering media applications

    Författare :Mats Andersson; Atomfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Laserteknik; Laser technology; Atom- och molekylärfysik; Atomic and molecular physics; Fysik; Physics; coherent sampling; optical sensor; light absorption; noninvasive measurement; diode laser; scattering of light; laser spectroscopy; fluorescence spectroscopy; remote sensing; Lidar; DIAL;

    Sammanfattning : Laser spectroscopy for both large and small spatial scales has been developed and used in various applications ranging from remote monitoring of atmospheric mercury in Spain to investigation of oxygen contents in wood, human sinuses, fruit, and pharmaceutical solids. Historically, the lidar group in Lund has performed many differential absorption lidar (DIAL) measurements with a mobile lidar system that was first described in 1987. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Fibre-Optic Displacement and Temperature Sensing Using Coupling Based Intensity Modulation and Polarisation Modulation Techniques

    Författare :Johan Jason; Hans-Erik Nilsson; Bertil Arvidsson; Werner Daum; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; optical fibre sensor; displacement measurement; temperature measurement; fibre coupling; intensity modulation; birefringence; polarisation; OTDR; side-hole fibre;

    Sammanfattning : Optical fibre sensors are employed in the measurements of a number of different physical properties or for event detection in safety and security systems. In those environments which suffer from electromagnetic disturbance, in harsh environments where electronics cannot survive and in applications in favour of distributed detection, fibre-optic sensors have found natural areas of use. 3. 13. Controlled Polymer Grafting from Nanoparticles for the Design of Dielectric Nanocomposites

    Författare :Martin Wåhlander; Eva Malmström; Anna Carlmark; Henrik Hillborg; Sanat K. Kumar; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Fiber- och polymervetenskap; Fibre and Polymer Science;

    Sammanfattning : The interest for polymeric nanocomposites has rapidly grown during the last decades, fuelled by the great potential and superior properties of nanoparticles (NPs). The production volumes of commercial NPs have increased exponentially during the last ten years, and the quality has been significantly improved. LÄS MER

    Författare :Nazanin Alipour; Mikael S. Hedenqvist; Antal Boldizar; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Deltamethrin; piperonyl butoxide; polyethylene; migration; multilayer film; EVOH; n-hexane; crystallization; mechanical properties; X-ray scattering; swelling; larvae; protein; lipid; moisture sorption; release; nanoclay; polypropylene; degradation; Fiber- och polymervetenskap; Fibre and Polymer Science;

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation addresses the structure and properties of a number of polymer-based materials when they come into contact with specific environments. The first part describes the migration and depletion of active substances from insecticide-impregnated polyethylene sheets in water and air at different humidity levels and higher temperatures. 5. 15. Development of Ultra-fast Biosensors for Detection of Non-electroactive Neurotransmitters

    Författare :Yuanmo Wang; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; artificial cell; quantification; stability; deformation; dynamic light scattering; adsorption; amperometry; nanoparticle tracking analysis; enzyme monolayer; glucose oxidase; exocytosis; choline oxidase; acetylcholine; enzymatic activity; acetylcholine esterase; gold nanoparticles; Biosensor;

    Sammanfattning : During neuronal communication neurotransmitters are released through the process exocytosis that occurs on the time scale of sub-milliseconds to milliseconds. Neuronal activity by neurotransmitters that are non-electroactive cannot easily be monitored due to limitations in the temporal resolutions of the sensor probes for these analytes. LÄS MER
