  1. 1. Fetal surveillance and outcome in postterm pregnancy

    Författare :Margareta Kitlinski; gynekologisk och prenatal ultraljudsdiagnostik Obstetrisk; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; sexuality; Obstetrik; gynekologi; andrologi; reproduktion; sexualitet; reproduction; andrology; gynaecology; Obstetrics; Ultrasound.; Umbilical cord artery; Prolonged; Postterm; pH; Mortality; Morbidity; Gender; Fetal surveillance; Brain-sparing; Doppler; Blood gases; Acid-base;

    Sammanfattning : To minimize the risk of short-term and long-term morbidity and mortality among children born postterm, studies were performed to evaluate the fetal surveillance program. (1) Male-fetus pregnancies were at an increased risk... LÄS MER

  2. 2. Symphysis Fundus Measurements for Detection of Intrauterine Growth Retardation

    Författare :Eva Bergman; Ove Axelsson; Helle Kieler; Max Petzold; Reynir Tomas Geirsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :symphysis-fundus measurements; small for gestational age; intrauterine growth retardation; fetal growth; self-administered; relative growth; screening method; statistical surveillance; fetal surveillance;

    Sammanfattning : A case-control study was performed to evaluate the Swedish population-based symphysis fundus (SF) reference curves. The study included 242 small for gestational age (SGA) neonates (169 term and 73 preterm infants) as cases and 296 non-SGA infants as controls. Two Swedish SF curves were evaluated. LÄS MER

  3. 3. ST analysis of the fetal ECG as an adjunct to fetal heart rate monitoring in labour-a clinical validation

    Författare :Håkan Noren; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :fetal ECG; ST analysis; electronic fetal monitoring; cardiotocography; fetal blood sampling; metabolic acidosis;

    Sammanfattning : The ability to make an accurate assessment of fetal well-being during labour is a great challenge. Animal and human studies have shown that fetal hypoxemia during labour can alter the shape of the fetal electrocardiogram (FECG) waveform, notable elevation of the T-wave and depression of the ST segment. 4. 4. Role of cerebral Blood Flow in Fetal Surveillance

    Författare :Riffat Cheema; Urogynekologi och reproduktionsfarmakologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : ABSTRACT In high-risk pregnancies the chronic hypoxemic fetus redistributes its circulation to maintain the blood supply to the vital organs: brain, heart and adrenals. The aims of the studies included in this thesis were: 1) to establish reference curves for fetal cerebral venous blood velocity in normal pregnancies; 2) to determine in high-risk pregnancies the frequency of abnormal Doppler in the cerebral veins and uterine, umbilical and middle cerebral arteries and the umbilical vein and ductus venosus with correlation with adverse perinatal outcome; 3) to analyze the correlation between brain sparing and redistribution of circulation and placental vascular impedance; 4) to evaluate the correlation between brain sparing and fetal umbilical cord blood gases at birth.
