1. Superdiffusive Spin Transport and Ultrafast Magnetization Dynamics : Femtosecond spin transport as the route to ultrafast spintronics
Sammanfattning : The debate over the origin of the ultrafast demagnetization has been intensively active for the past 16 years. Several microscopic mechanisms have been proposed but none has managed so far to provide direct and incontrovertible evidences of their validity. LÄS MER
2. Femtosecond Dynamics and Photochemistry in Solution
Sammanfattning : The reaction dynamics of several polyatomic systems have been investigated in solution by femtosecond spectroscopy. Tetranitromethane-naphtalene complexes excited in the charge-transfer band at 400 nm undergo dissociative electron transfer, resulting in three primary products: [naphthalene].+, NO2 and C(NO2)3-. 3. Fundamental interactions in transition metal reactions
Sammanfattning : Transition metal complexes that participate in homogeneous reactions often perform the role of a catalyst, facilitating novel reaction pathways. When these complexes are pushed away from their equilibrium, the arrangement of the coordinating ligands around the metal center is perturbed and new reaction pathways are opened. LÄS MER
4. Spin Current Generation in Magnetic Heterostructures and its Impact on Terahertz Emission : A Spin Dynamics Perspective
Sammanfattning : The transfer of knowledge from one generation to another is key to the intellectualness of mankind. In the present information age, digital technology provides easy access to knowledge and information. LÄS MER
5. Ultrafast Photo-induced Reaction Dynamics of Small Molecules
Sammanfattning : The main focus of this thesis is the investigation of the dissociation dynamics of aryl halides using femtosecond pump-probe spectroscopy. In the monohalogenated aryl halides, iodo-, bromo- and chlorobenzene, the rate of dissociation following excitation at 266 nm in the gas phase increased with increasing mass of the halogen atom.
