1. Infants with colic - Parents’ experiences in short and long perspectives and the effect of acupuncture treatment on crying, feeding, stooling and sleep
Sammanfattning : Infantile colic, involving an otherwise healthy infant crying and fussing more than three hours per day and more than three days per week, is a common problem in Western countries. Both the infant and the parents suffer during the months of persistent crying and there is a risk that the establishing of the early relationship might be disturbed. LÄS MER
2. Breast-feeding, nasopharyngeal colonization and otitis media
Sammanfattning : This thesis analyzed the relationship between breastfeeding, nasopharyngeal colonization and acute otitis media (AOM) in children. Nasopharyngeal cultures were collected from 400 children and milk samples from their mothers in connection with the scheduled visits to well baby clinics at 1-3, 4-7 and 8-12 months of age, and episodes of AOM and URI were documented. 3. Soil identification by vibration measurements during soil-rock sounding
Sammanfattning : Dynamic penetration tests are frequently used as geotechnical site investigation methods. In Sweden, the main reason to choose a dynamic penetration method is to investigatedepth to bedrock, strength and deformation properties of soil, compaction, or pilingdepth. LÄS MER
4. Temporary neonatal exposure to whole and hydrolysed cow's milk proteins. Studies of macromolecular absorption and immunological variables
Sammanfattning : The aim of this work was to study prospectively the effects of different feeding regimens during the first three days of life. A group of 129 infants were randomly assigned at birth to one of three feeding regimens: human milk (HM), cow's milk formula (CMF), or a casein hydrolysate formula (CHF). LÄS MER
5. The Analysis of Thermal Power Stations and their Interaction with the Power System using Simulator Test Methods
Sammanfattning : This thesis describes a new method of testing power stations with regard to their frequency control behaviour and analyses results obtained using this new method. The test concept is based on that the power station unit to be tested remains synchronized onto its normal strong network, whereas the frequency control behaviour is set up to be that of the conditions if the unit was working on a much smaller network, using a computer based simulator system and feeding simulated control signals to the input of the units frequency control system.
