  1. 1. Modeling and Control of a PMSynRel Drive for a Plug-InHybrid Electric Vehicle

    Författare :Shuang Zhao; Chandur Sadarangani; Sigurd Övrebö; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electric drive; feasible region; inductance spatial harmonics; integrated charger; permanent-magnet assisted synchronous reluctance machine; plug-in hybrid-electric vehicle; polarity detection; saturation and cross-saturation; sensorless control; signal injection; transient modeling.;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents two transient models for a prototype integrated charger for use in a plug-in hybrid-electrical vehicle application. The models can be useful in order to develop control algorithms for the system or to recommend improvements to the machine design. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Bridging the Gap : implementing tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS collaborative activities in the Northwest Region of Cameroon

    Författare :Barnabas N Njozing; Anna-Karin Hurtig; Miguel San Sebastian Chasco; Kerstin E Edin; Pius Muffih Tih; John D Porter; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Tuberculosis; HIV AIDS; collaborative activities; Northwest Region; Cameroon.; Public health science; Folkhälsovetenskap; folkhälsa; Public health;

    Sammanfattning : Introduction The human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) epidemic has led to the upsurge of tuberculosis (TB) infection globally, but most especially in areas with high HIV prevalence. In the past, there was lack of a coordinated global and national response between TB and HIV programmes to curb the devastating impacts of both infections. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Maternal Mortality Then, Now, and Tomorrow : The Experience of Tigray Region, Northern Ethiopia

    Författare :Hagos Godefay Debeb; John Kinsman; Peter Byass; Afework Mulugeta; Wendy Graham; Bernt Lindtjoern; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Maternal mortality; intervention; ambulance; family folder; case-control; cross-sectional survey; verbal autopsy; Tigray; Ethiopia; epidemiologi; Epidemiology;

    Sammanfattning : AbstractBackground: Maternal mortality is one of the most sensitive indicators of the health disparities between poorer and richer nations. It is also one of the most difficult health outcomes to measure reliably. In many settings, major challenges remain in terms of both measuring and reducing maternal mortality effectively. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Modeling Width in Spatial Optimization in Raster Space

    Författare :Lindsi Seegmiller; Takeshi Shirabe; Lars Harrie; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; raster-based geographic information system; spatial optimization; region selection; width; optimal routing; raster data modeling; distortion; corridor; rasterbaserat geografiskt informationssystem; rumslig optimering; regionval; bredd; optimal routing; rasterdatamodellering; distorsion; korridor; Geoinformatik; Geoinformatics;

    Sammanfattning : Given a grid of cells, each of which is assigned a numerical value quantifying its utility (or cost) for a certain use, a popular type of problem in geographic information science is raster-based spatial optimization. Such problems commonly seek to find a set of cells that maximizes (or minimizes) that utility (or cost) while adhering to a given set of constraints. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Evaluating and optimizing surveillance and response strategies for malaria elimination in the Asia Pacific region

    Författare :Chris Cotter; Andreas Mårtensson; Arantxa Roca-Feltrer; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; malaria elimination; surveillance and response; reactive case detection; sociobehavorial; reactive drug administration; molecular diagnostics; microsatellite genotyping; Plasmodium vivax; low transmission;

    Sammanfattning : Malaria case investigation and reactive case detection (RACD) activities are widely implemented in low transmission settings to identify additional malaria infections and gather surveillance information, but with varying degrees of success. Challenges in conducting RACD include poor diagnostic sensitivity (particularly for low density and asymptomatic infections), knowledge gaps among those conducting RACD, financial and resource constraints, and operational and logistical difficulties.
