1. Modeling and Control of a PMSynRel Drive for a Plug-InHybrid Electric Vehicle
Sammanfattning : This thesis presents two transient models for a prototype integrated charger for use in a plug-in hybrid-electrical vehicle application. The models can be useful in order to develop control algorithms for the system or to recommend improvements to the machine design. LÄS MER
2. Bridging the Gap : implementing tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS collaborative activities in the Northwest Region of Cameroon
Sammanfattning : Introduction The human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) epidemic has led to the upsurge of tuberculosis (TB) infection globally, but most especially in areas with high HIV prevalence. In the past, there was lack of a coordinated global and national response between TB and HIV programmes to curb the devastating impacts of both infections. LÄS MER
3. Maternal Mortality Then, Now, and Tomorrow : The Experience of Tigray Region, Northern Ethiopia
Sammanfattning : AbstractBackground: Maternal mortality is one of the most sensitive indicators of the health disparities between poorer and richer nations. It is also one of the most difficult health outcomes to measure reliably. In many settings, major challenges remain in terms of both measuring and reducing maternal mortality effectively. LÄS MER
4. Modeling Width in Spatial Optimization in Raster Space
Sammanfattning : Given a grid of cells, each of which is assigned a numerical value quantifying its utility (or cost) for a certain use, a popular type of problem in geographic information science is raster-based spatial optimization. Such problems commonly seek to find a set of cells that maximizes (or minimizes) that utility (or cost) while adhering to a given set of constraints. LÄS MER
5. Evaluating and optimizing surveillance and response strategies for malaria elimination in the Asia Pacific region
Sammanfattning : Malaria case investigation and reactive case detection (RACD) activities are widely implemented in low transmission settings to identify additional malaria infections and gather surveillance information, but with varying degrees of success. Challenges in conducting RACD include poor diagnostic sensitivity (particularly for low density and asymptomatic infections), knowledge gaps among those conducting RACD, financial and resource constraints, and operational and logistical difficulties.
