1. Multiple-Bit Errors in Computer Systems
Sammanfattning : This thesis discusses the types of transient faults caused by heavy-ion or a-particle radiation that manifest as multiple-bit errors and how information redundancy techniques can achieve fault tolerance with respect to some classes of multiple-bit errors. The first part of the thesis considers the fault modelling problem, beginning with the problem of how single event upsets (SEUs) originating from faults in register cells in microprocessors manifest as primary errors. 3. Fault Behavior of Wind Turbines
Sammanfattning : Synchronous generators have always been the dominant generation type in the grid. This fact affected both planning and operation of power systems. With the fast increase of wind power share in the grid in the last decade, the situation is changing. In some countries wind power represents already a consistent amount of the total generation. 4. Hybrid modelling in condition monitoring
Sammanfattning : Assuring the reliability, availability, maintainability and safety of assets is key to business success. A logical first step is to consider the requirements of assets in the design process. However, these concepts must also be assured during the assets’ operation. Consequently, it is important to have knowledge of their actual condition. LÄS MER
5. Structural and sedimentological reconstruction of the inverted Vargfors basin : a base for 4D-modelling
Sammanfattning : The Palaeoproterozoic Skellefte mining district in northern Sweden covers an area of 120 by 30 km and is one of the most important mining districts in Europe, producing mainly Zn, Cu, Pb, As and Au from volcanogenic massive sulfide (VMS) and orogenic gold deposits.Detailed mapping of structures and stratigraphy within the sedimentary Vargfors Group combined with a structural analysis revealed a syn-extensional fault pattern of NW-SE-trending normal faults and associated NE-SW-trending transfer faults, creating the segmented sedimentary Vargfors basin.
