16. Kinetic chain weight training, strength assessment, and functional performance testing: with reference to sports and rehabilitation
Sammanfattning : The overall purpose of the studies was to obtain knowledge about physical performance in healthy individuals and patients after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction. Data are presented that concerns closed and open kinetic chain exercise, adaptive response to weight training, the methodology of muscle strength assessment, and the development of a functional testing protocol performed under conditions of fatigue. 17. A study on wear characteristics of high strength steels under sliding contact
Sammanfattning : In the last decades, significant improvements regarding the design, materials and technology of rock drills have been made. Likewise, in sheet metal forming, forming tools experience very high contact pressures when processing high strength steel sheets. LÄS MER
18. Very high cycle fatigue of tool steels
Sammanfattning : An increasing number of engineering components are expected to have fatigue life in the range of 107 - 1010 load cycles. Some examples of such components are found in airplanes, automobiles and high speed trains. LÄS MER
19. Effect of shear cutting on metal fatigue
Sammanfattning : Lightweighting of automotive and heavy-duty vehicle components is an important task that does not need any further motivation or background. It can be read in a large part of the technical papers in the field. A common approach for finding lighter solutions is to increase the material grade while decreasing the material thickness. LÄS MER
20. Fatigue, functional status, health and pulmonary rehabilitation in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to describe fatigue, functional limitations due to fatigue and health in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), as well as to compare patients with individuals from the general population and to test if pulmonary rehabilitation can reduce fatigue and functional limitations, and thus improve health. A further aim was to test the Fatigue Impact Scale (FIS) among patients with COPD. LÄS MER
