  1. 1. Factor V Leiden mutation and pregnancy. Haemostasis during pregnancy in non-carriers and carriers of factor V Leiden mutation, with special emphasis on placenta-mediated and venous thromboembolic complications and on blood coagulation and fibrinolysis markers for prediction of complications

    Författare :Ulla Kjellberg; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Activated protein C; D-dimer; Factor V Leiden; fibrinolysis; haemostasis; obstetric complications; platelet function; pregnancy; prothrombin fragment 1 2; soluble fibrin; Sonoclot; thrombosis;

    Sammanfattning : Factor V Leiden (FVL) mutation elevates the risk of venous thromboembolism (VTE) in general. During pregnancy, the haemostatic balance is changed in the direction of hypercoagulability, resulting in an increased incidence of VTE. 42 women were followed longitudinally during pregnancy and the puerperium. 2. 2. VENOUS THROMBOEMBOLISM IN SOUTHERN SWEDEN EPIDEMIOLOGY AND RISK FACTORS

    Författare :Nazim Isma; Vaskulära sjukdomar - kliniska studier; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; epidemiology; Venous thromboembolism VTE ; risk factors; factor V leiden FVL ; socioeconomic status SES ; upper extremety deep venous thrombosis UEDVT ; haemoglobin Hb ; low molecular weight heparin LMWH ; labour;

    Sammanfattning : Despite the fact that venous thromboembolism (VTE) is an important cause of morbidity and mortality there is still insufficient information on VTE risk factors and patient characteristics in the general population. Previously published incidences of VTE (deep venous thrombosis [DVT] and pulmonary embolism [PE]) vary from 71 to 192 per 100,000 individuals per year. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Venous thromboembolism with special focus on genetic and potential acquired risk factors

    Författare :SIGNY SVEINSDOTTIR; Malmö Klinisk koagulationsmedicin; []

    Sammanfattning : Venous thromboembolism (VTE) is a relatively common cause of morbidity and mortality. It has an annual incidence of around 0.1- 0.3%. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Long-term consequences of venous thromboembolism in women

    Författare :Maria Ljungqvist; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Venous thromboembolism (VTE) is the third most common cardiovascular disease with a high recurrence rate. There is a risk of chronic complications affecting health- related quality-of life (QoL). LÄS MER
