  1. 1. Arterial Thrombosis in Factor V Leiden or Activated Protein C Resistance. Clinical and Experimental Studies

    Författare :Ellis Sampram; Malmö Klinisk koagulationsmedicin; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Activated protein c resistance; Factor V Leiden mutation; thrombophilia; hypercoagulable state; Factor V Leiden mice; arterial thrombosis; venous thromboembolism; peripheral vascular reconstructions; peripheral vascular reconstruction occlusion;

    Sammanfattning : Abstract The last two decades has seen an avalanche of studies establishing Activated protein C (APC) resistance due to Factor V Leiden mutation as the most prevalent genetic risk factor, yet known, for venous thromboembolism. This has been documented in 20-60% of patients with deep vein thrombosis (DVT). LÄS MER

  2. 2. Factor V Leiden mutation and pregnancy. Haemostasis during pregnancy in non-carriers and carriers of factor V Leiden mutation, with special emphasis on placenta-mediated and venous thromboembolic complications and on blood coagulation and fibrinolysis markers for prediction of complications

    Författare :Ulla Kjellberg; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Activated protein C; D-dimer; Factor V Leiden; fibrinolysis; haemostasis; obstetric complications; platelet function; pregnancy; prothrombin fragment 1 2; soluble fibrin; Sonoclot; thrombosis;

    Sammanfattning : Factor V Leiden (FVL) mutation elevates the risk of venous thromboembolism (VTE) in general. During pregnancy, the haemostatic balance is changed in the direction of hypercoagulability, resulting in an increased incidence of VTE. 42 women were followed longitudinally during pregnancy and the puerperium. 3. 3. The regulation of factor Va activity by activated protein C -Importance of the individual activated protein C cleavage sites in factor Va

    Författare :Eva Norström; Malmö Klinisk kemi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; extracellulära vätskor; Hematologi; extracellular fluids; Haematology; activated protein C resistance; activated protein C; Blood coagulation; Factor V;

    Sammanfattning : The subject of this thesis is the activated protein C (APC)-mediated inactivation of factor Va. The activated form of factor V (FVa) is a procoagulant cofactor for Factor Xa (FXa) in the conversion of prothrombin to thrombin. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Resistance to activated protein C a novel risk factor for venous thrombosis

    Författare :Peter Svensson; Malmö Klinisk koagulationsmedicin; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; APC resistance; mutation; venous thrombosis; blood coagulation; Protein C; factor V; Haematology; extracellular fluids; Hematologi; extracellulära vätskor;

    Sammanfattning : Activated protein C resistance (APC resistance) is the most common hereditary condition associated with venous thrombosis. The syndrome known as APC resistance is perfectly linked to a mutation in the gene coding coagulation FV (FV:Q506) mutation changing Arg 506 to Gln in the APC cleavage site. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Retinal Vein Occlusion A clinical study of electrophysiology, certain prognostic factors and treatment

    Författare :Charlotte Lindberg; Lund Oftalmologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Ophtalmology; Oftalmologi; multifocal electroretinography vitrectomy; electroretinography; factor V Leiden; retinal vein occlusion; prognostic factors;

    Sammanfattning : The influence of the factor V Leiden mutation on the development of neovascular complications in central retinal vein occlusion was studied. The presence of the mutation was found to enhance the risk of developing neovascular complications almost threefold compared to in patients without the mutation. LÄS MER
