21. Methods for deep examination of DNA
Sammanfattning : The development of sequencing technology has had a rapid pace during the last years and today, the sequencing instruments harbors enormous capacity. This thesis is about the development of methods to make the most out of this capacity and to use it for various applications. LÄS MER
22. Replication-competent adenovirus 11p vector as a new oncolytic agent
Sammanfattning : Human adenoviruses (Ads) as vectors have been studied for cancer gene therapy for several decades due to their ability to shut down host cell replication and lyse tumour cells. Ad5 of species C is commonly used as a replication-defective or a replication-competent vector. LÄS MER
23. Monitoring primary carbon metabolism in plants using heavy isotope labelling and mass spectrometry : ¹³CO₂ labelling, detection and estimation in intact plants
Sammanfattning : This thesis covers the possibilities and limitations of studying primary metabolism in intact plants, with special focus on heavy isotope labelling and mass spectrometry methodology. In paper I, a series of Arabidopsis thaliana mutants lacking one or both genes of mitochondrial malate dehydrogenase (mMDH characterised) were characterised. LÄS MER
24. Alloreactivity in stem cell transplantation
Sammanfattning : Acute graft-versus-host disease (GVHD), relapse and graft rejection are the main complications after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT). The aim of this thesis was to achieve a better understanding of the alloreactivity seen after HSCT, focusing on graft rejection, but also including the graft-versus-leukemia (GVL) effect and GVHD. 25. Massively parallel analysis of cells and nucleic acids
Sammanfattning : Recent proceedings in biotechnology have enabled completely new avenues in life science research to be explored. By allowing increased parallelization an ever-increasing complexity of cell samples or experiments can be investigated in shorter time and at a lower cost. LÄS MER
