Sammanfattning : Background In Sweden, one of the safest countries to give birth and to be born in, there is a trend towards increasing interventions during childbirth, and fewer women than ever give birth without having their labours induced or augmented, epidural analgesia, or caesarean section. While interventions at times are vital for a safe birth, there is a growing body of evidence demonstrating that an overuse of medical and technological interventions may have adverse effects on woman and child. Sammanfattning : The theme of this dissertation is the way in which the process of becoming a father is experienced, constituted, and constructed in Sweden in the 1990's. From the perspective of cultural analysis, I seek to discuss what men who become fathers today see as important in the constitution of themselves as parents and what is important in the eyes of other people; what occasions and actiona are significant, what procedures one can or should gp through, and how they are perceived; and how these men differ from fathers in previous generations and how they view this. 5. Surgical complications after vaginal and caesarean delivery
Sammanfattning : Background: Obstetric anal sphincter injuries (OASIS) after vaginal delivery are the most common cause of anal incontinence in women. Symptoms range from faecal urgency and soiling to inability to control flatus and passive faecal incontinence. OASIS are also associated with urinary incontinence, perineal pain, and sexual dysfunction. LÄS MER
