  1. 1. Essays on Capital Structure

    Författare :Hossein Asgharian; Nationalekonomiska institutionen; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; economic theory; econometrics; Economics; Extreme Bound Analysis; Selection bias; Lisrel; Semiparametric; Nonparametric; Financial distress; Panel data analysis; Leverage; Capital structure; economic systems; economic policy; Nationalekonomi; ekonometri; ekonomisk teori; ekonomiska system; ekonomisk politik;

    Sammanfattning : Chapter 2 analyses the relationship between capital structure and industry classification of Swedish firms. This study also analyses the determinants of the capital structure at the industry level. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Sociala kategoriseringar i samspel : Hur kön, etnicitet och generation konstitueras i ungdomars samtal

    Författare :Linda Kahlin; Hans Strand; Lars Fant; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; interaction; intersectionality; identity; membership categorization analysis; gender; ethnicity; generation; conversation analysis; adolescents; Swedish; Scandinavian languages; Nordiska språk; Scandinavian Languages; nordiska språk;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of the thesis is to show how gender, ethnicity and generation membership categories are constituted in talk-in-interaction. The main material comprises seven video recordings of multi-participant conversations among school pupils, aged 16 to 19.An important theoretical term is intersectionality, i.e. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Approximation Techniques for Timing Analysis of Complex Real-Time Embedded Systems

    Författare :Yue Lu; Christer Norström; Thomas Nolte; Ola Redell; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Computer engineering; Datorteknik; Computer Science; datavetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : To date, many industrial embedded systems are very large, flexible, and highly configurable software systems, containing millions of lines of code and consisting of hundreds of tasks, many with real-time constraints, being triggered in complex, nested patterns. Furthermore, the temporal dependencies between tasks in such systems are difficult to determine analytically, and they vary the execution time and response time of tasks greatly. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Evolution of biological systems linked to complex cell architectures in Planctomycetota

    Författare :Emil Hägglund; Siv Andersson; Damien Devos; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Planctomcyetota; Cellular complexity; Gemmataceae; Phagocytocis; Serine Threonine kinase; Anammox; Hydrazine Synthase; Hydroxylamine oxidoreductase; Heme biosynthesis; Phylogenetics; Biologi med inriktning mot molekylär evolution; Biology with specialization in Molecular Evolution;

    Sammanfattning : The eukaryotic cells have a nucleus and membrane-enclosed organelles for functions such as energy production, whereas the prokaryotic cells have a cell wall but no intracellular membrane-bound structures. Species of the Planctomycetota phylum are classified as bacteria but have diverse and complex cell architectures. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Exercise-induced muscle soreness : a qualitative and quantitative study of human muscle morphology and function

    Författare :Jan Fridén; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Human; exercise; exertion; eccentric contractions; muscles; muscle strength; muscle soreness; fibre types; myofibrils; muscle proteins; histocy to chemistry; ultrastructure; stereology;

    Sammanfattning : Exercise-induced muscle soreness is characterized by stiffness, tenderness and pain during active movements and weakness of the affected musculature the days after unusually or particularly heavy work. The most pronounced subjective symptoms do not arise immediately but rather between a couple of hours to some days after the exercise (a delayed-onset of muscle soreness), the intensity of pain is greatest about 48 hours after the work.
