  1. 21. A novel principle for immunomodulator delivery with hematopoietic cells as vehicles Focus on soluble TNF-receptor gene expression, targeting to secretory lysosomes and regulated secretion

    Författare :Ying Gao; Avdelningen för hematologi och transfusionsmedicin; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; extracellulära vätskor; extracellular fluids; Hematologi; Medicin människa och djur ; Haematology; Medicine human and vertebrates ; neutrophil; granule; secretory lysosome; sorting; phagocytosis; degranulation.; mast cell; hematopoietic cell; inflammation; soluble TNF receptor;

    Sammanfattning : The goal of this research is to use hematopoietic cells as vehicles for targeting transgenic immunomodulators to the inflammatory sites. The work presented was focused on the anti-inflammatory soluble TNF receptor. A transmembrane soluble TNF receptor (sTNFR1) construct was expressed in hematopoietic cell lines. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Biosynthesis, Processing, and Sorting of Human Neutrophil Granule Proteins. Focus on Cathepsin G, Proteinase 3, and Azurocidin

    Författare :Daniel Garwicz; Avdelningen för hematologi och transfusionsmedicin; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Hematologi; extracellular fluids; Haematology; differentiation; bone marrow progenitor cells; preproform; mutations; Cell lines; transfection; extracellulära vätskor;

    Sammanfattning : The neutrophil granulocyte contains a number of multifunctional proteins stored in different subsets of granules. The azurophil granules, synthesized early during differentiation, harbour leukocyte elastase, cathepsin G, proteinase 3, and azurocidin; the members of the serprocidin family. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Molecular and functional studies of the BCR/ABL1 fusion gene

    Författare :Petra Johnels; Avdelningen för klinisk genetik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; extracellular fluids; Hematologi; Haematology; onkologi; Cytologi; cancerology; oncology; Cytology; gene expression profiling; acute lymphoblastic leukemia; chronic myeloid leukemia; Ph chromosome; BCR ABL; extracellulära vätskor; Clinical genetics; Klinisk genetik; cancer;

    Sammanfattning : The BCR/ABL1 fusion gene is associated with chronic myeloid leukemia and a subgroup of acute lymphoblastic leukemia. The general aim of this thesis was to increase the understanding of BCR/ABL1-induced leukemogenesis by molecular and functional studies of this fusion gene. LÄS MER

  4. 24. Development of Adenoviral Vectors for Studying Hematopoietic Stem Cell Function

    Författare :Marcus Järås; Institutionen för laboratoriemedicin; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Hematologi; extracellulära vätskor; extracellular fluids; hTERT; adenovirus; hematopoietic stem cells; Haematology;

    Sammanfattning : Hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) are defined by their capacity to self-renew and differentiate into all hematopoietic cell lineages. Postnatally, HSCs reside predominantly in the bone marrow and are relatively rare, but important cells because of their therapeutic potential in bone marrow transplantation protocols and in their involvement in the origin of certain leukemias. 5. 25. Mechanisms of survival and maintenance of Hematopoietic Stem Cells and Multipotent Progenitor Cells

    Författare :Richard Karlsson; Institutionen för translationell medicin; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; extracellulära vätskor; Hematologi; extracellular fluids; Haematology; hypoxia.; forkhead; Akt PKB; Bcl-2; apoptosis; Flt3; FL; c-kit; KL; cytokines; Hematopoiesis; progenitor;

    Sammanfattning : Hematopoietic stem cells and progenitor cells are maintained in the bone marrow microenvironment, where factors including soluble and membrane-bound cytokines influence the processes of self-renewal, proliferation and differentiation. Two nonreduntant cytokines with effects on hematopoiesis, Kit Ligand (KL) and Flt3 Ligand (FL), signal via related tyrosine kinase receptors, c-kit and Flt3. LÄS MER
