  1. 1. Ontogenetic and comparative aspects of cerebellar and motor development

    Författare :Maria Christensson; Institutionen för experimentell medicinsk vetenskap; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Neurologi; neurophysiology; Neurology; neuropsychology; Medicine human and vertebrates ; time-translation; cross-species; cerebellum; motor adaptation; development; ferret; external granular layer; neuropsykologi; neurofysiologi; Medicin människa och djur ;

    Sammanfattning : During the course of development the motor repertoire of animals and humans alike go through dramatic changes. New motor patterns arise; movements become coordinated, improve in precision and are at the same time continuously calibrated to the changing body dimensions. The cerebellum is critical for movement coordination and adaptation in adults. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Preterm intraventricular cerebral hemorrhage: role of cell-free hemoglobin

    Författare :Alex Adusei Agyemang; Lund Pediatrik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Intraventricular hemorrhage; Preterm birth; Haptoglobin; Alpha 1 microglobulin; cerebellar hypoplasia; periventricular white matter; cell-free hemoglobin;

    Sammanfattning : Cerebral intraventricular hemorrhage in preterm infants continues to be a major clinical problem associated with neurodevelopmental abnormalities manifested by cognitive, behavioral, attentional, social and motor deficits. Hypothesis and aims: The central thesis is that the cytotoxicity of extravasated blood and of consequently released cell-free hemoglobin(Hb) is pivotal for the pathophysiological events causally involved in brain injury. 3. 3. Understanding the role of non-coding RNAs in skin homeostasis and cancer

    Författare :Kunal Das Mahapatra; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The epidermis is a stratified epithelium with continuous self-renewing capacity. As the outermost layer of our body, it provides a protective barrier against external trauma, produces pigmentation, and keeps the skin hydrated. Keratinocytes are the primary constituent cells type within the epidermis. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Cerebellar development and very preterm birth interactions with neonatal events

    Författare :Kristbjorg Sveinsdottir; Lund Pediatrik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : AbstractThe cerebellum is an important part of the brain and in very preterm infants the cerebellum is smaller at term equivalent age compared to that of infants born at term.Hypothesis and aims: The general hypothesis is that preterm birth per se causes cerebellar underdevelopment and that certain events following preterm birth, either complications or treatments, can aggravate the underdevelopment.
