  1. 1. Identification and synthesis of components for uncertainty propagation

    Författare :Mladen Gibanica; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; substructuring; uncertainty propagation; uncertainty quantification; surrogate modelling; Monte Carlo method; interface reduction; state-space models; experimental methods; system identification;

    Sammanfattning : For automotive structures, built-up of hundreds of components with property spread, knowing the effects of component variability and its propagation through the system assembly is important in order to mitigate noise and vibration problems. To increase the understanding of how the spread propagates into variability in built-up structures, both experimental and computational aspects are considered in this thesis. LÄS MER

    Författare :Isak Jonsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; intermediate compressor duct; IR-thermography; laminar-turbulent transition; aerothermal; turbine rear structure; heat transfer; hydrogen propulsion; experimental; uncertainty analysis; Clean Sky 2 Joint Undertaking European Union EU Horizon 2020 CS2-RIA EATEEM 82139; multi-hole probe;

    Sammanfattning : In commercial aviation, efficiency improvements may be gained by aerodynamic optimisation of its structural components, such as the intermediate compressor duct (ICD) and the turbine rear structure (TRS). These components have frequently been overlooked in favour of compressor and turbine module optimisation. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Virus Fate and Transport in Groundwater : Organic matter, uncertainty, and cold climate

    Författare :Jean-Marc Mayotte; Keven Bishop; Stephan Köhler; Fritjof Fagerlund; Sven Halldin; Constantinos V. Chrysikopoulos; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; managed aquifer recharge; organic matter; virus; numerical modeling; uncertainty; Hydrology; Hydrologi; Mikrobiologi; Microbiology;

    Sammanfattning : Water managers must balance the need for clean and safe drinking water with ever-increasing amounts of waste-water. A technique for treating and storing surface water called “managed aquifer recharge” (MAR) is frequently used to help maintain this balance. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Experimental Aerothermal Study on Internal Jet Engine Structures

    Författare :Isak Jonsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Intermediate Compressor Duct; Aerothermal; multi-hole probe; Turbine Rear Structure; transition; experimental; IR-thermography;

    Sammanfattning : For commercial aviation, one potential gain in efficiency can be found in the jet engine auxiliary modules, such as internal jet engine components. These components have historically largely been overlooked, prioritising units such as turbines or compressors. LÄS MER

  5. 5. On Robot Feedback from Range Sensors : Reliable Control by Active Reduction of Uncertainty and Ambiguities

    Författare :Jonas Nygårds; John Hallam; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; robot gripping and docking; LQG-feedback; posture estimation; Gaussian sum; optronic sensing; sheet of light range camera; time-of-flight laser; specular reflection s; multiple scattering; range ghosts ; active reduction of ambiguities; reliability; uncertainty; tolerances;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis is on modelling and experimental tests when non contact sensing isused for feedback control in robotics. The motion of the robot is to be controlled relative to objects in the surrounding workspace during operations like gripping/docking, surface following, shape measuring etc. LÄS MER
