  1. 1. Polymer Nanocomposites in Thin Film Applications

    Författare :Linda Fogelström; Anders Hult; José M. Kenny; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Nanocomposites; hyperbranched polymers; montmorillonite; clay nanoparticles; exfoliated; coatings; crosslinking; TEM; XRD; mechanical properties; thermal properties; cellulose nanofibers; Atom Transfer Radical Polymerization; Ring-Opening Polymerization; poly ε-caprolactone ; surface modification; grafting; interfacial adhesion; Polymer chemistry; Polymerkemi;

    Sammanfattning : The introduction of a nanoscopic reinforcing phase to a polymer matrix offers great possibilities of obtaining improved properties, enabling applications outside the boundaries of traditional composites. The majority of the work in this thesis has been devoted to polymer/clay nanocomposites in coating applications, using the hydroxyl-functional hyperbranched polyester Boltorn® as matrix and montmorillonite clay as nanofiller. 2. 2. Structural and Electronic Properties of Graphene on 4H- and 3C-SiC

    Författare :Chamseddine Bouhafs; Vanya Darakchieva; Rozitsa Yakimova; Ivan Gueorguiev Ivanov; Jacek Baranowski; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Graphene is a one-atom-tick carbon layer arranged in a honeycomb lattice. Graphene was first experimentally demonstrated by Andre Geim and Konstantin Novoselov in 2004 using mechanical exfoliation of highly oriented pyrolytic graphite (exfoliated graphene flakes), for which they received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2010. 3. 3. Liquid-Phase Exfoliation of Two-Dimensional Materials : Applications, deposition methods and printed electronics on paper

    Författare :Viviane Forsberg; Magnus Norgren; Luis Miguel Pereira Nunes; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :molybdenum disulfide MoS2 ; transition metal dichalcogenide TMD ; thin films; inkjet printing; 2D inks; liquid-phase exfoliation; shear exfoliation; printed electronics; organic electronics; PEDOT:PSS; photoresponse; photocurrent; cathodoluminescence;

    Sammanfattning : After the unprecedented success of graphene research, other materials that can also be exfoliated into thin layers, like Transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) such as molybdenum disulfide (MoS2), have also become the subjects of extensive studies. As one of the most promising methods for large scale production of such materials, liquid-phase exfoliation (LPE) has also been the subject of extensive research and is maturing as a field to the point that devices using additive manufacturing and printed nanosheets are often reported.
