  1. 6. Biological risk factors for crime : Adverse perinatal events and psychophysiology

    Författare :Sofi Oskarsson; Catherine Tuvblad; Henrik Larsson; Marianne Kristiansson; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Biological Risk Factors; Crime; Criminal Offender; Biological Criminology; Adverse Perinatal Events; Psychophysiology; Psychopathy;

    Sammanfattning : Biological risk factors for crime have been largely neglected within main-stream criminology. However, a large body of research has over the past few decades converged on the conclusion that it is important to consider biological risk factors for crime, as they may help to inform theory and etiology. 3. 8. Power Grid Resilience to High Impact Low Probability Events

    Författare :Samuel Forsberg; Mikael Bergkvist; Karin Thomas; Lars Nordström; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Extreme weather; HILP events; offshore wind; power grid; resilience; vulnerability; Electrical Engineering with specialization in Systems Analysis; Elektroteknik med inriktning mot systemanalys;

    Sammanfattning : The electrification of societies and the decarbonisation of electricity production are changing energy systems worldwide. A fast transition towards the replacement of fossil fuels by intermittent renewable energy sources is expected in the next decades to combat climate change. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Terrestrial response to Dansgaard-Oeschger cycles and Heinrich events : the lacustrine record of Les Echets, south-eastern France

    Författare :Daniel S. Veres; Barbara Wohlfarth; John J. Lowe; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; lake sediments; palaeoclimate; organic matter; Dansgaard-Oeschger cycles; Heinrich events; MIS 3; Western Europe; Quaternary geology; Kvartärgeologi; Quarternary Geology; kvartärgeologi;

    Sammanfattning : Marine Isotope Stage (MIS) 3 was an interval characterized by large and abrupt temperature changes on a millennial time scale, the so-called Dansgaard-Oeschger (DO) cycles and Heinrich events. Evidence for this high-frequency climate variability has been identified in many marine and ice core records. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Single-Photon Events in the DELPHI Experiment

    Författare :Elisabeth Falk; Partikel- och kärnfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; kvantfältteori; Elementarpartikelfysik; quantum field theory; DELPHI; STIC; LEP; single-photon events; PS; off-energy electrons; silicon-strip detector; coherent noise; emittance; Elementary particle physics; fast wire scanner; High energy interactions; cosmic rays; Kosmisk strålning; högenergi; Fysicumarkivet A:1998:Falk Harris;

    Sammanfattning : A series of studies pertaining to the STIC calorimeter at the DELPHI experiment at LEP is presented, and a new generation of fast wire scanners for emittance measurements at PS is described. The STIC studies are centered around a single-photon analysis, in which the reaction e+ e- -> gamma + invisible particles was studied at center-of-mass energies of 161, 172 and 183 GeV. LÄS MER
