Sammanfattning : The primary aim was to register the incidence of surgical wound infections (SWI) in sternotomy and leg incisions and potential risk factors for SWI following coronary artery by-pass graft (CAGB) procedures. Sammanfattning : The etiology of female stress urinary incontinence (SUI) is unclear. By linking three nationwide medical registries we evaluated maternal and obstetric factors associated with later SUI surgery. Surgery for SUI was strongly associated with vaginal delivery, but not with pregnancy as such. LÄS MER

Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this thesis was to enhance treatment planning for gynaecological cancer patients and identify women that are more likely to have impaired quality of life (QoL) after treatment. In a retrospective cohort study on ovarian cancer, the peritoneal cancer index (PCI) was examined in relation to incomplete cytoreductive surgeries (CRS) and surgical complications (n=167). LÄS MER

Sammanfattning : The overall aims of this thesis were to examine personal standards, self-evaluation and attitudes to eating and weight in the development of disturbed eating in adolescent girls, and to examine how adolescent girls with a clinical eating disorder reflect upon and deal with perceived expectations in daily life.Studies I and II were quantitative studies, conducted in a population-based longitudinal study.
