3. Urinary incontinence and genital prolapse : A prospective population-based study
Sammanfattning : The aims of this study were to investigate the prevalence and possible determinants of urinary incontinence and genital prolapse and the natural course of urinary incontinence and its effect on well-being in a population-based sample of women aged 20 to 59 years. 491(77%) women participated in the baseline examination of a gynaecological health survey and 382 participated in a 5-year follow-up. 4. Use or Misuse? : Addiction Care Practitioners’ Perceptions of Substance Use and Treatment
Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis has been to study boundary-making in addiction care practitioner’s perceptions of substance use and treatment. The four papers are based on three data collections in Swedish outpatient addiction care: a) a survey conducted in 2006 (n=655), b) a factorial survey using randomly constructed vignettes conducted in 2011 (n=474), and c) a focus group interview study from 2013 (n=30) with a sample of the respondents from the factorial survey. 5. Glutamate Turnover and Energy Metabolism in Brain Injury : Clinical and Experimental Studies
Sammanfattning : During brain activity neurons release the major excitatory transmitter glutamate, which is taken up by astrocytes and converted to glutamine. Glutamine returns to neurons for re-conversion to glutamate. This glutamate-glutamine cycle is energy demanding. LÄS MER
