  1. 16. Risk-Averse Decision-Making under Parametric Uncertainty

    Författare :Hannes Eriksson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Risk-Sensitive Learning; Autonomous Driving; Machine Learning; Uncertainty Estimation; Reinforcement Learning;

    Sammanfattning : For sequential decision-making problems with potentially catastrophic consequences appropriate risk assessment may be required. In contrast to traditional techniques for decision-making under uncertainty that aim to maximise performance in expectation, we chose to focus on other properties of the probability distribution. 2. 17. Microbial risk assessment and its implications for risk management in urban water systems

    Författare :Therese Westrell; Thor-Axel Stenström; Nick Ashbolt; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Quantitative microbial risk assessment; pathogens; urban; decentralised; failures; noroviruses; water consumption; HACCP; drinking water; wastewater; sludge; faeces; risk management; Water in nature and society; Vatten i natur och samhälle;

    Sammanfattning : Infectious disease can be transmitted via various environmental pathways, many of which are incorporated into our water and wastewater systems. Quantitative microbial risk assessment (QMRA) can be a valuable tool in identifying hazard exposure pathways and estimating their associated health impacts. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Strategies for assessing health risks from two occupational cohorts within the domain of northern Sweden

    Författare :Ove Björ; Tohr Nilsson; Håkan Jonsson; Lena Damber; Per Gustavsson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cohort; mortality; incidence; risk; rate; cancer; cerebrovascular diseases; exposure; occupational; mining; industry; worker; Poisson regression; Cox regression; SMR; causal inference; G-estimation; Occupational and Environmental Medicine; arbets- och miljömedicin; epidemiologi; Epidemiology;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Studies based on a cohort design requires access to both subject-specific and period-specific information. In order to conduct an occupational cohort study, access to exposure information and the possibility and permission to link information on outcomes from other registers are generally necessary. 4. 19. Thermal Crack Risk Estimation and Material Properties of Young Concrete

    Författare :Anders Hösthagen; Jan-Erik Jonasson; Mårten Larson; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Thermal cracking risk; young concrete; Equivalent Restraint Method; strength development; heat of hydration; creep; shrinkage; thermal dilation; modeling; field observations; Structural Engineering; Konstruktionsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents how to establish a theoretical model to predict risk of thermal cracking in young concrete when cast on ground or an arbitrary construction. The crack risk in young concrete is determined in two steps: 1) calculation of temperature distribution within newly cast concrete and adjacent structure; 2) calculation of stresses caused by thermal and moisture (due to self-desiccation, if drying shrinkage not included) changes in the analyzed structure. 5. 20. Novel Computational Analyses of Allergens for Improved Allergenicity Risk Assessment and Characterization of IgE Reactivity Relationships

    Författare :Daniel Soeria-Atmadja; Ulf Hammerling; Mats Gustafsson; Rob Aalberse; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; allergens; bioinformatics; statistical learning; performance estimation; risk assessment; Medical informatics; Medicinsk informatik;

    Sammanfattning : Immunoglobulin E (IgE) mediated allergy is a major and seemingly increasing health problem in the Western countries. The combined usage of databases of molecular and clinical information on allergens (allergenic proteins) as well as new experimental platforms capable of generating huge amounts of allergy-related data from a single blood test holds great potential to enhance our knowledge of this complex disease.
