  1. 21. Channel Estimation Aspects of Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces

    Författare :Doga Gürgünoglu; Gabor Fodor; Emil Björnson; Jaap van de Beek; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Reconfigurable intelligent surface; channel estimation; pilot contamination; positioning; angle of arrival estimation; integrated sensing and communications; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Sammanfattning : In the sixth generation of wireless communication systems (6G), there exist multiple candidate enabling technologies that help the wireless network satisfy the ever-increasing demand for speed, coverage, reliability, and mobility. Among these technologies, reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RISs) extend the coverage of a wireless network into dead zones, increase capacity, and facilitate integrated sensing and communications tasks by consuming very low power, thus contributing to energy efficiency as well. 2. 22. Parameter estimation and model based control design of drive train systems

    Författare :Mats Tallfors; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Signalbehandling; control; drive train; estimation; identification; mechanical; Signalbehandling; Signal processing; Signalbehandling;

    Sammanfattning : The main control task in many speed-controlled drives is to eliminate or reduce the load speed error caused by the load torque disturbance and reduce oscillations as quickly as possible. This thesis addresses different aspects of identification and control of such resonant elastic systems. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Numerical Model Reduction and Error Control for Computational Homogenization of Transient Problems

    Författare :Fredrik Ekre; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; model reduction; error estimation; computational homogenization;

    Sammanfattning : Multiscale modeling is a class of methods useful for numerical simulation of mechanics, in particular, when the microstructure of a material is of importance. The main advantage is the ability to capture the overall response, and, at the same time, account for processes and structures on the underlying fine scales. LÄS MER

  4. 24. Pipeline Analog-Digital Converters Dynamic Error Modeling for Calibration : Integral Nonlinearity Modeling, Pipeline ADC Calibration, Wireless Channel K-Factor Estimation

    Författare :Samer Medawar; Peter Händel; Niclas Björsell; Magnus Jansson; Dominique Dallet; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Analog-digital converter; integral nonlinearity; calbiration; K-factor estimation;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the characterization, modeling and calibration of pipeline analog-digital converters (ADC)s. The integral nonlinearity (INL) is characterized, modeled and the model is used to design a post-correction block in order to compensate the imperfections of the ADC. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Identification of Stochastic Nonlinear Dynamical Models Using Estimating Functions

    Författare :Mohamed Abdalmoaty; Håkan Hjalmarsson; Adrian Wills; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Prediction Error Method; Maximum Likelihood; Data-driven; Learning; Stochastic; Nonlinear; Dynamical Models; Non-stationary Linear Predictors; Intractable Likelihood; Latent Variable Models; Estimation; Process Disturbance; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Data-driven modeling of stochastic nonlinear systems is recognized as a very challenging problem, even when reduced to a parameter estimation problem. A main difficulty is the intractability of the likelihood function, which renders favored estimation methods, such as the maximum likelihood method, analytically intractable. LÄS MER
