  1. 11. Distributed Road Grade Estimation for Heavy Duty Vehicles

    Författare :Per Sahlholm; Karl Henrik Johansson; Emilio Frazzoli; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Automotive; estimation; distributed systems; automatic control; heavy duty vehicles; road grade; road maps; Automatic control; Reglerteknik;

    Sammanfattning : An increasing need for goods and passenger transportation drives continued worldwide growth in traffic. As traffic increases environmental concerns, traffic safety, and cost efficiency become ever more important. Advancements in microelectronics open the possibility to address these issues through new advanced driver assistance systems. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Iterative Road Grade Estimation for Heavy Duty Vehicle Control

    Författare :Per Sahlholm; Karl Henrik Johansson; Jonas Sjöberg; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; road grade; estimation; heavy duty vehicle; Kalman filter; automatic control; Automatic control; Reglerteknik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents a new method for iterative road grade estimation based on sensors that are commonplace in modern heavy duty vehicles. Estimates from multiple passes of the same road segment are merged together to form a road grade map, that is improved each time the vehicle revisits an already traveled route. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Aspects of Electrical Bioimpedance Spectrum Estimation

    Författare :Farhad Abtahi; Kaj Lindecrantz; Fernando Seoane; Mart Min; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electrical Bioimpedance Spectroscopy; Thoracic Bioimpedance Spectroscopy; Sub-Nyquist Sampling; Undersampling; Aliasing in Electrical Bioimpedance; Bioimpedance Estimation Error.; Medicinsk teknologi; Medical Technology; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Electrical bioimpedance spectroscopy (EBIS) has been used to assess the status or composition of various types of tissue, and examples of EBIS include body composition analysis (BCA) and tissue characterisation for skin cancer detection. EBIS is a non-invasive method that has the potential to provide a large amount of information for diagnosis or monitoring purposes, such as the monitoring of pulmonary oedema, i. LÄS MER

  4. 14. On Receiver Algorithms for OFDM Systems

    Författare :Florent Munier; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; quantisation; multicarrier modulation; Intercarrier Interference ICI ; Phase noise; Wiener process; orthogonal frequency division multiplexing OFDM ; estimation; fading channels; channel estimation; iterative decoding.;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis addresses the problem of designing a receiver for an Orthogonal FrequencyDivisionMultiplexing (OFDM)communication system operating over fading channels, taking into account the effects of hardware imperfections. We discuss solutions for efficiently estimating the parameters of a channel model and for compensating oscillator phase noise and analog to digital converter (ADC) quantisation errors at the receiver. 5. 15. Channel Estimation and Self-Interference Suppression for MIMO Relaying Systems

    Författare :Panagiota Lioliou; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; estimation; expectation-maximization EM ; half-duplex; Bayesian; multiple-input multiple-output MIMO ; Cramer-Rao Bound CRB ; full-duplex; relays; performance analysis; Kalman filter KF ; self-interference.; Amplify-and-forward AF ; least squares LS ;

    Sammanfattning : Recently, the introduction of relaying nodes in wireless channels has been identified as a promising technique for providing broader coverage, higher transmission rates, and increased reliability. Moreover, when the concept of relaying systems is combined with that of multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) technology, thesystem performance can be further improved by exploiting the spatial dimension.
