  1. 1. Characterization of non-coding mRNA in Epstein-Barr virus

    Författare :Åsa Isaksson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Epstein-Barr virus; EBNA1; IRES; PTLD; alternative splice; nucleotide substitution; protein interactions;

    Sammanfattning : Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is a human gammaherpesvirus that infects lymphoid and epithelial cells. The virus is the causative agent of infectious mononucleosis, a self-limiting lymphoproliferative disease, and it is additionally associated with various malignancies including Burkitt?s lymphoma, Hodgkin?s disease and lymphoproliferative syndromes in immunocompromised individuals. 2. 2. Functional aspects on the Epstein-Barr virus nuclear antigen 5

    Författare :Martin Dufva; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Epstein-Barr Virus; EBV; B-cell; transformation; cDNA array; polyadenylation; transcription; cell cycle; apoptosis; two-hybrid system.;

    Sammanfattning : The Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infects resting B-cells. This leads to an EBV driven transformation of the resting B-cell into a cell with an activated B-cell phenotype that proliferates indefinitely in vitro. Epstein-Barr Nuclear antigen 5 (EBNA5) is one out of six EBV encoded protein involved in transformation of resting B-cell. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Nasopharyngeal carcinoma and Epstein-Barr virus

    Författare :Li-Fu Hu; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :NPC; EBV; EBNAs; LMPI; LMP2; Tumorigenicity; Immunogenicity;

    Sammanfattning : Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is the most common tumor in southern China and also quite frequent among the Eskimos and in Alaska. NPC is invariably associated with Epstein-Barr virus (EBV). LÄS MER

  4. 4. Posttransplant Lymphoproliferative Disorders : Studies of Epstein-Barr Virus, Regulatory T Cells and Tumor Origin

    Författare :Amelie Kinch; Karlis Pauksens; Gunilla Enblad; Eva Baecklund; Harald Holte; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; PTLD; Lymphoma; Epstein-Barr Virus; EBV DNAemia; FoxP3; Treg; Microenvironment; Cell of Origin; Recipient; Transplantation; Immunosuppression; Hepatitis C; Survival; Medicinsk vetenskap; Medical Science;

    Sammanfattning : Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infects almost all humans and establishes lifelong latency in B cells. Posttransplant lymphoproliferative disorder (PTLD) is a rare but serious complication after transplantation triggered by immunosuppression and often related to EBV infection. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Regulation of the Epstein-Barr Virus Latent Membrane Protein 1 Expression

    Författare :Pegah Johansson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Gene regulation; LMP1; Epstein-Barr virus; Herpesvirus;

    Sammanfattning : Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is a probably the most effective and successful human virus, infecting more than 90% of the world?s adult population. As with the other members of the herpesvirus family, EBV establishes latent infection in its host and persists life-long. LÄS MER
