  1. 6. Postponed Plans : Prospective Memory and Intellectual Disability

    Författare :Anna Levén; Björn Lyxell; Annika Dahlgren-Sandberg; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Pprospective memory; intellectual disability; working memory; episodic memory; time perception; Prospektivt minne; utvecklingsstörning; arbetsminne; episodiskt minne; tidsuppfattning; Disability research; Handikappsforskning;

    Sammanfattning : Avhandlingen handlar om prospektivt minne (PM) hos personer med utvecklingsstörning. PM syftar på att formulera intentioner och genomföra dessa någon gång i framtiden, antingen inom en definierad tidsram eller i samband med en specifik händelse.Frågeställningar:1. LÄS MER

  2. 7. The power of action and knowledge in episodic memory for school-aged children

    Författare :Farzaneh Badinlou; Reza Kormi-Nouri; Monika Knopf; Agneta Herlitz; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Episodic memory; action memory; enactment effect; subject-performed tasks; experimenter-performed tasks; verbal tasks; school-aged children; memory strategies; information processing;

    Sammanfattning : Developmental and cognitive research suggests that there are age-related differ-ences in children’s episodic memory across school ages due to the development of knowledge, which in turn affects memory strategy use and information pro-cessing over time. However, there are controversial findings related to devel-opmental patterns and factors involved in children’s episodic memory function. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Noise in the school environment : Memory and Annoyance

    Författare :Eva Boman; Högskolan i Gävle; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Noise; meaningful irrelevant speech; road traffic noise; memory; age group; school environment; pupils; teachers;

    Sammanfattning : Objectives.The general objectives of this dissertationwere to examine the effects of acute exposure to meaningfulirrelevant speech and road traffic noise on memory performance,and to explore annoyance responses to noise exposure in theschool environment for pupils and teachers in different agegroups.Methods. 4. 9. Brain activity associated with episodic memory : similarities and differences between encoding and retrieval

    Författare :Jonas Persson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Episodic memory; encoding; retrieval; positron emission tomography PET ; enactment; overlap; retrieval mode; retrieval success; novelty;

    Sammanfattning : Understanding the mnemonic functions of the brain has been extensively facilitated by the development of functional neuroimaging techniques such as positron emission tomography (PET) and functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). The present thesis aims at investigating the neural mechanisms underlying memory for personally experienced events (episodic memory), using PET. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Making Head or Tail of the Hippocampus : A Long-Axis Account of Episodic and Spatial Memory

    Författare :Jonas Persson; Hedvig Söderlund; Tomas Furmark; Asaf Gilboa; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; hippocampus; fMRI; episodic memory; spatial memory; gender differences; Psychology; Psykologi;

    Sammanfattning : While episodic and spatial memory both depend on the hippocampus, opposite gender differences in these functions suggest they are partly separate, with different neural underpinnings. The anterior and posterior hippocampus differ  in structure and whole-brain connectivity, and studies point to the posterior hippocampus being more involved in spatial memory while the anterior hippocampus’ role in episodic memory is less clear.
