1. Synthesis and asymmetric transformations of diols by enzyme- and ruthenium catalysis
Sammanfattning : The major part of this thesis describes the synthesis of aliphatic secondary diols and the development of lipase- and ruthenium-catalyzed asymmetric transformations of these diols. Several acyclic 1,4-diols and 1,5-diols were synthesized, and by combining a lipase-catalyzed asymmetric transformation with a ruthenium-catalyzed epimerization, enantiomerically- and diastereomerically enriched diacetates were obtained. 2. Enzyme- and Transition Metal-Catalyzed Asymmetric Transformations : Application of Enzymatic (D)KR in Enantioselective Synthesis
Sammanfattning : Dynamic kinetic resolution (DKR) is a powerful method for obtaining compounds with high optical purity. The process relies on the combination of a kinetic resolution with an in situ racemization. LÄS MER
3. Catalytic Stereoselective Formation of C–O, C–C and C–B Bonds : A Voyage from Asymmetric Reactions Enabled by Lipases to Stereoselective Palladium-Catalyzed Oxidative Transformations of Enallenes
Sammanfattning : This thesis has been focused on enzymatic kinetic resolutions and stereoselective oxidative transformations of enallenes catalyzed by PdII.In the first part of the thesis, a detailed discussion on Candida antarctica lipase B (CALB)-catalyzed kinetic resolution (KR) of δ-functionalized alkan-2-acetates is shown. 4. Microbial and enzymatic syntheses of polymer building blocks through selective transformations of polyols and furans
Sammanfattning : AbstractTransition from fossil- to bio-based economy is a critical step towards reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and climate change, and hence for achievement of sustainable communities and environment. In order to be fossil-free, the chemical and material industry is in need of carbon-neutral building blocks from renewable resources for the diverse array of products that are currently produced from olefins and aromatics. 5. Dynamic Systems : Enzymatic Synthesis, Exchange Reactions and Applications in Materials Science
Sammanfattning : This thesis is divided into three parts, revolving around the developments of dynamic systems utilized in dynamic kinetic resolution (DKR) and constitutional dynamic chemistry (CDC).The first section gives an introduction to constitutional dynamics, the core concept of this thesis.
