  1. 16. Development of a new generation of 12% Cr steels: Z-phase strengthened steels

    Författare :Masoud Rashidi; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; atom probe tomography; Z-phase; 9-12% Cr steels; martensitic steels; transmission electron microscopy; precipitation hardening; creep;

    Sammanfattning : Fossil-fuel fired steam power plants provide more than 60% of the electricity generated worldwide, and account for about one third of the global CO2 emissions. The thermal efficiency of the steam power plants is limited by the maximum allowed steam temperature and pressure, which in turn are determined by the long-term corrosion and creep resistance of economically viable materials. 2. 17. Multi-Gigabit Radio System Demonstrators for Next Generation Mobile Networks

    Författare :Jingjing Chen; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; fronthaul; E-band; modem; millimeter-wave transmission; mobile backhaul; multi-gigabit; differential coding; phase noise mitigation; FPGA; 16-QAM; DQPSK; point-to-point radio; centralized baseband;

    Sammanfattning : Driven by the exponential growth in mobile broadband subscriptions and mobile data traffic, transport capacity of mobile networks has to be enhanced accordingly, including wireless backhaul and the emerging fronthaul networks. Utilizing wide bandwidth is the most straightforward way to capacity upgrade. LÄS MER

  3. 18. DSP based Chromatic Dispersion Equalization and Carrier Phase Estimation in High Speed Coherent Optical Transmission Systems

    Författare :Tianhua Xu; Sergei Popov; Gunnar Jacobsen; Jie Li; Seb Savory; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; coherent detection; chromatic dispersion; carrier phase estimation; quadrature phase shift keying; SRA - ICT; SRA - Informations- och kommunikationsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Coherent detection employing multilevel modulation formats has become one of the most promising technologies for next generation high speed transmission systems due to the high power and spectral efficiencies. Using the powerful digital signal processing (DSP), coherent optical receivers allow the significant equalization of chromatic dispersion (CD), polarization mode dispersion (PMD), phase noise (PN) and nonlinear effects in the electrical domain. 4. 19. Physiopathological aspects of NMDA transmission in the basal ganglia : in vitro and in vivo release studies

    Författare :Michele Morari; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :basal ganglia; NMDA; dizocilpine; microdialysis; slices; synaptosomes; dopamine; acetylcholine; glutamate; GABA; 6OH-dopamine;

    Sammanfattning : N-methyl-D-aspartic acid (NMDA) is an excitatory amino acid selectively acting on a subclass of glutamate receptors (the NMDA ionotropic receptor) which has been involved in many of the physiological and pathological effects of glutamate in the CNS. The basal ganglia are particularly enriched in NMDA receptors and NMDA receptor activation in the basal ganglia has been involved in the expression of motor behaviour. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Gamma radiation techniques for non-destructive post-irradiation examination of nuclear fuel : Predicting performance and optimizing instrument design

    Författare :Lorenzo Senis; Peter Andersson; Erik Andersson Sundén; Ane Håkansson; Fabiola Cappia; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Collimated gamma spectroscopy; Gamma emission tomography; Gamma transmission micro-densitometry; Pareto optimization; Post-irradiation examination; Applied Nuclear Physics; Tillämpad kärnfysik;

    Sammanfattning : Collimated gamma-based techniques are widely used to study nuclear fuel, especially for non-destructive post-irradiation examination (PIE). Examples of such techniques include gamma emission tomography (GET) and gamma transmission densitometry (GTD). LÄS MER
