7. Magnetoresistance and Space : Micro- and Nanofeature Sensors Designed, Manufactured and Evaluated for Space Magnetic Field Investigations
Sammanfattning : In recent years, the interest for miniaturization of spaceborne instruments and subsystems has increased steadily, as this enables development of small and lightweight satellite classes as well as more versatile payloads on traditional spacecraft. In essence, this thesis work is an investigation of the applicability of magnetoresistive technology to a magnetometer intended for space. LÄS MER
8. Domestic Heating with Solar Thermal : Studies of Technology in a Social Context and Social Components in Technical Studies
Sammanfattning : Research in solar heating has traditionally focused solely on increasing the system efficiency by improving the technical components. In this thesis the technical methodology and system boundaries are widened to connect the technical aspects with market actors that are highly influential on the implementation of solar technology. 9. Microfluidics at High Pressures : Understanding, Sensing, and Control
Sammanfattning : This thesis explores understanding, sensing, and control in high-pressure microfluidics. The high-pressure regime allows fluids to be forced through narrow channels at substantial speed and creates conditions for fluids of high density and low viscosity—features desired in flow-based chemical analyses. 10. Thin Film Plate Acoustic Resonators for Frequency Control and Sensing Applications
Sammanfattning : The recent development of the commercially viable thin film electro-acoustic technology has triggered a growing interest in the research of plate guided wave or Lamb wave components owing to their unique characteristics. In the present thesis i) an experimental study of the thin film plate resonators (FPAR) performance operating on the lowest symmetrical Lamb wave (S0) propagating in highly textured AlN membranes versus a variety of design parameters has been performed.
