    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; biosensor; protein interactions; kinetics; affinity; QCM; quartz crystal microbalance; piezoelectric resonators; dissipation; motional resistance; Bioanalytical engineering; Bioanalytisk teknik; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot mikrosystemteknik; Engineering Science with specialization in Microsystems Technology;

    Sammanfattning : Biomolecular interaction analysis to determine the kinetics and affinity between interacting partners is important for the fundamental understanding of biology, as well as for the development of new pharmaceutical substances. A quartz crystal microbalance instrument suitable for kinetics and affinity analyses of interaction events was developed. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Heterogeneous Technologies for Microfluidic Systems

    Författare :Gunjana Sharma; Klas Hjort; Sami Franssila; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :actuator; biosensor; fluidic circuit board; heterogeneous technology; ion track; microfluidic; pump; stainless steel; super-hydrophobic; valve; Viton; TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot mikrosystemteknik; Engineering Science with specialization in Microsystems Technology;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, conventional and unconventional technologies have been studied and combined in order to make heterogeneous microfluidics with potential advantages, especially in biological applications. Many conventional materials, like silicon, glass, thermoplastic polymers, polyimide and polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) have been combined in building heterogeneous microfluidic devices or demonstrators. 3. 23. Miniature Plasma Sources for High-Precision Molecular Spectroscopy in Planetary Exploration

    Författare :Martin Berglund; Greger Thornell; Anders Persson; Felipe Iza; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEMS; MST; Optogalvanic Spectroscopy; Molecular Spectroscopy; Split-Ring Resonator; Microplasma; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot mikrosystemteknik; Engineering Science with specialization in Microsystems Technology;

    Sammanfattning : The prospect of finding life outside Earth has fascinated mankind for ages, and new technology continuously pushes the boundary of how remote and how obscure evidence we can find. Employing smaller, or completely new, types of landers and robots, and equipping them with miniature instruments would indeed revolutionize exploration of other planets and moons. LÄS MER

  4. 24. Extending Microsystems to Very High Temperatures and Chemically Harsh Environments

    Författare :Zahra Khaji; Lena Klintberg; Klas Hjort; Greger Thornell; Frank Niklaus; Uppsala universitet; []
