  1. 16. Energy Harvesting and Energy Storage for Wireless and Less-Wired Sensors in Harsh Environments

    Författare :Elof Köhler; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Piezoelectric; coupled harvester; Thermoelectric; harsh environment; piezoelectric harvester; Energy harvester; supercapacitor; Thermoelectric harvester;

    Sammanfattning : Engineering requires sensors to control and understand the environment. This is particularly important in harsh environments. The drawbacks, especially in gas turbines is the complexity of installing a wired sensor and the weight of the wires. This makes wireless sensors attractive. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Low temperature deicing of road infrastructure using renewable energy

    Författare :Josef Johnsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []

    Sammanfattning : Winter road maintenance is costly but it is inevitable since it is necessary to keep roads accessible and safe during winter. Current winter road maintenance methods use annually 600 000 tons of salt, in the Nordic countries. The salt ends up in the environment along the roads and results in environmental challenges. Sammanfattning : The need for heating and cooling in buildings constitutes a considerable part of the total energy use in a country and reducing this need is of outmost importance in order to reach national and international goals for reducing energy use and emissions. One important way of reaching these goals is to increase the proportion of renewable energy used for heating and cooling of buildings. LÄS MER
