  1. 6. The role of industrial energy management in the transition toward sustainable energy systems : Exploring practices, knowledge dynamics and policy evaluation

    Författare :Mariana Andrei; Patrik Thollander; Anna Sannö; Patrik Rohdin; Kornelis Blok; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Energy management; Practices; Transition to sustainable energy systems; Knowledge-creation; Process innovation; Incremental and radical innovations; Voluntary initiatives; Digital technologies for energy efficiency;

    Sammanfattning : Mitigating climate change represents one of the most pressing challenges of our time. The EU has set the goal of reaching climate neutrality by 2050. The transition of manufacturing organizations is essential in reaching the EU’s goal, since industry accounts for circa 25% of the total final energy use and about one-fifth of EU’s GHG emissions. 2. 7. Perspectives on Demand Side Energy Efficiency

    Författare :Olof Björkqvist; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; transaction cost; energy efficiency; energy conservation; viable system model; Markal; demand-side management; local energy planning; organisational cybernetics; reference energy system; decision support; case study;

    Sammanfattning : This work treats recommendations based on energy systems engineering. The focus is on what can be learned by different methods about the roles that demand-side energy efficiency should play in the energy system. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Energy Feedback and Demand Response Strategies : Exploring Household Engagement and Response Using a Mixed Methods Approach

    Författare :Anders Nilsson; Maria Malmström; Cajsa Bartusch; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Energy feedback; demand response; household energy consumption; energy efficiency and conservation; demand flexibility; smart grids; smart homes; Industrial Ecology; Industriell ekologi;

    Sammanfattning : Real-time energy feedback (EF) and demand response using dynamic pricing tariffs (DR) have been suggested as effective intervention strategies to meet the need for increased energy efficiency and demand flexibility in the residential sector. Although previous studies provide some empirical support for the effectiveness of EF and DR, evaluation approaches used in practical experiments and field trials commonly suffer from several methodological shortcomings, preventing deeper of knowledge on the potential and barriers for EF and DR to influence household energy consumption. 4. 9. Energy Efficiency and Preservation in Our Cultural Heritage : EEPOCH

    Författare :Heidi Norrström; Michael Edén; Andrew Dainty; Sweden Gothenburg Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; energy performance; preserved built heritage; historic and architectural values; laws and regulations; collaboration through workshops; interdisciplinarity; transdisciplinarity; multiple case study and indoor climate;

    Sammanfattning : The project EEPOCH concerns our built heritage and the complex set of problems that exist between energy efficiency and preservation perspectives. New legislation demanding efficient energy use is predicated on the documented potential of energy efficiency on both national and international levels. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Responsible resource management in hotels : attitudes, indicators, tools and strategies

    Författare :Paulina Bohdanowicz; Björn Palm; Ivo Martinac; Walter Jamieson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; hotels; energy and water management; energy and water conservation; environmental awareness; environmental reporting; performance indicators; consumption modelling; benchmarking; Mechanical energy engineering; Mekanisk energiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Hotels constitute one of the main, and still expanding, pillars of the tourism sector and are highly unique among other commercial buildings. Resource intensive and frequently inefficient systems and operational routines applied in the sector, result in considerable environmental impact and indicate an urgent need for more environmentally sound practices and products in the hotel industry.
