41. Hybrid Methods for Unsteady Fluid Flow Problems in Complex Geometries
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, stable and efficient hybrid methods which combine high order finite difference methods and unstructured finite volume methods for time-dependent initial boundary value problems have been developed. The hybrid methods make it possible to combine the efficiency of the finite difference method and the flexibility of the finite volume method. LÄS MER
42. The age of transported scalars in fluid mechanics
Sammanfattning : Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) is applied to the reacting flow in the freeboard of a 30MW biofuel fired grate furnace and results are validated by comparison with data from an extensive measurement campaign. The influence of the fuel bed model on the results of the freeboard model is investigated. LÄS MER
43. VLSI aspects on inversion in finite fields
Sammanfattning : Different algorithms and architectures for inversion in finite extension fields are studied. The investigation is restricted to fields of characteristic two. Based on a simple transistor model, various architectures are compared with respect to delay, area requirement, and energy consumption. LÄS MER
44. Leveraging HVPE for III-V/Si Integration and Mid-Infrared Photonic Device Fabrication
Sammanfattning : This work covers the implementation of highly specialized epitaxial techniques enabled by the near-equilibrium hydride vapor-phase epitaxy growth process in III-V/Si integration for Si-based tandem solar cells and photoelectrochemical reactions, quasi phase matching GaP structures on GaAs substrates, and regrowth of InP:Fe on quantum cascade lasing structures.III-V/Si integration is an important topic in several fields of research with a significant one being solar energy harvesting. 45. Energy balance during active carbon uptake and at excess irradiance in three marine macrophytes
Sammanfattning : The marine environment is an important habitat where many processes occur that affect life conditions on earth. Macrophytes and planktonic oxygen evolvers are an essential component for almost all marine life forms and have developed in an environment that differs largely from the terrestrial habitats. LÄS MER
