Sammanfattning : Objectives: The overall purpose of this study was to investigate the long-term consequences of primary surgical treatment of endometrial cancer with emphasis on lymphadenectomy, lymphedema development in the limbs, health-related quality of life, and health economy aspects. The primary objective was to assess the incidence of lymphedema both objectively and subjectively by using three different methods to determine lymphedema. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Leucine-rich repeats and immunoglobulin-like domain (LRIG) proteins : possible prognostic markers in vulvar squamous cell carcinoma, endometrial carcinoma, and oropharymgeal squamous cell carcinoma

Författare :Husam Oda; David Lindquist; Eva Lundin; Ulrika Ottander; Kristina Stefansson; Kate Cuschieri; Umeå universitet; []

Sammanfattning : The human leucine-rich repeats and immunoglobulin-like domain (LRIG) gene family comprises three genes, LRIG1, LRIG2 and LRIG3, which encode the LRIG1, LRIG2 and LRIG3 proteins, respectively. Previous stidies have revealed the different prognostic roles of these proteins in different cancers, and it has been shown that LRIG1 functions as a tumour suppressor in certain cancers via its negative regulation of several receptor tyrosine kinases. Sammanfattning : Lynch syndrome (Hereditary Nonpolyposis Colorectal Cancer, HNPCC) is the most common hereditary syndrome predisposing to colorectal cancer, accounting for 1-3% of all colorectal cancer. This multi-organ cancer predisposition syndrome is caused by mutations in the mismatch repair (MMR) genes, especially MLH1 and MSH2, and to lesser extents MSH6 and PMS2, which lead to widespread genetic instability and thus microsatellite instability (MSI).
