21. Investigation of degradation of toxic substances in fungal cultures by mass spectrometric techniques
Sammanfattning : Micropollutants in water are biological or chemical contaminants that are present in ground and surface waters in trace quantities. They are a result of human activity and include pharmaceutically active compounds (PhACs) and endocrine disrupting compounds (EDCs). LÄS MER
22. Interaction of brominated flame retardants with the chicken and zebrafish androgen receptors
Sammanfattning : The survival of organisms depends on their ability to use different signaling pathways to adapt to the environment. The endocrine system consists of glands that release hormones to the blood stream. Male reproductive functions are regulated by androgens through interactions with the androgen receptor (AR). LÄS MER
23. From source to the environment : Strategies for identification and determination of hydroxylated polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in complex particulate matrices
Sammanfattning : Adverse health effects have been linked to exposure to particulate matter, and wood combustion is considered as an important source of harmful particulate matter in the urban air and environment. Hydroxylated polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons are a group of compounds with toxic, endocrine disrupting and carcinogenic properties. LÄS MER
24. Molecularly Imprinted Polymers at the Nanometric Scale: Synthetic Receptors for Chemical Sensors
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, polymerisation techniques or deposition methods have been developed permitting the creation of thin molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) films or patterns and their interfacing with transducer surfaces for biosensor applications. The creation of ultra thin films has been achieved using two different techniques, spin-coating and in-situ polymerization of thin films of monomers containing a sacrificial polymeric porogen, and autoassembly of MIP nanoparticles with the aid of an associative linear polymer. 25. Aquatic organisms on the pill - effects on different organizational levels
Sammanfattning : Communities are composed of organisms that interact with each other and with the non-biological environment. There are also anthropogenic pollutants in the environment that also interact with the organisms. LÄS MER
