  1. 11. Mercury immobilization : a requirement for permanent disposal of mercury waste in Sweden

    Författare :Margareta Svensson; Bert Allard; Anders Düker; Björn Öhlander; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; mercury; mercury sulphide; cinnabar; stabilization; solidification; encapsulation; monolith leaching; solubility; mercury speciation; diffusion; apparent diffusion coefficient; Chemistry; Kemi; Enviromental Science; Miljövetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : The Swedish Government states that mercury in the Swedish industry and private use shall be collected and waste containing more than 1% of mercury shall be conditioned for permanent storage in proposed groundwater-saturated repository in deep bedrock. The owners of mercury waste in Sweden are responsible for finding ways to the conversion of the mercury waste to insoluble forms. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Electrochemical capacitors for miniaturized self-powered systems: challenges and solutions

    Författare :Qi Li; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; bipolar; encapsulation; carbon; supercapacitors; miniaturized self-powered systems; electrochemical capacitors; redox electrolytes; energy storage; a.c. line filters;

    Sammanfattning : Electrochemical capacitors (ECs), also known as supercapacitors, are recognized as a key technology that will enable miniaturized self-powered systems, which will constitute the hardware base nodes of the internet of things (IoT), the internet of everything (IoE) and the tactile internet. Systems employing ECs can be designed to be maintenance-free thanks to the ultra-long cycling stability of ECs. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Fermentative hydrogen and methane productions using membrane bioreactors

    Författare :Julius Akinbomi; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Encapsulation; Inhibition; hydrodynamics; hydrogen; methane; fruit flavour; Membrane bioreactor; Resursåtervinning; Resource Recovery;

    Sammanfattning : The role of energy as a stimulant for economic growth and environmental sustainabilityof any nation has made the focus on green fuels, including fermentative hydrogen (bioH2) andmethane (bioCH4), to be a priority for the World’s policy makers. Nigeria, as the most populousAfrican country, with worsening energy crisis, can benefit from the introduction of the bioH2 andbioCH4 technologies into the country’s energy mix, since such technologies have the potential ofgenerating energy from organic wastes such as fruit waste. 4. 14. Aroma characterisation and retention after heat treatment and drying of fruits using extraction and GC-MS analysis

    Författare :Rui Ráice; Livsmedelsteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Fruits; Vangueria infausta; Mangifera indica; volatile; aroma; blanching; drying; encapsulation; modelling; GC-MS.;

    Sammanfattning : This study concerns the identification and characterisation of volatile components of fruits, and evaluation of the effect of heat treatment and drying on retention or loss of volatiles of fruits. The investigation included developing a procedure to extract volatile components from the fruit matrix, a purification step, separation, identification and quantification. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Formulation and characterization of W/O nano-dispersions for bioactive delivery applications

    Författare :Maria D. Chatzidaki; Aris Xenakis; Bert van Bavel; Werner Kunz; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; nano-dispersions; encapsulation; food; DLS; EPR; Cryo-TEM; SAXS; pH-stat; digestion; antioxidants; gastric lipase; pancreatic lipase; Kemi; Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : The main objective of this study was the formulation of food-grade water-in-oil (W/O) nano-dispersions based mainly on medium or long-chain triglycerides. Two types of dispersions were formulated and structurally compared, namely emulsions and microemulsions. LÄS MER
