Sammanfattning : Background: Dyspnea, a subjective, multidimensional experience of breathing discomfort commonly occurring in patients with incurable lung cancer, influences all aspects of life in the suffering per¬sons. To optimally enhance quality of life (QoL) and to identify persons most vulnerable to this symptom, it is important to investigate how to assess dyspnea, how other symptoms and coping are related to dyspnea, and what the consequences of dyspnea are, especially on QoL. 2. Unintended Pregnancy, Abortion and Prevention : Women and Men's Experiences and Needs
Sammanfattning : Women and men’s experiences and needs in relation to induced abortion, and their views on the prevention of unintended pregnancies were explored through questionnaire studies at 10 and13 Swedish women’s clinics (Papers I–IV). Among 798 women in age range 14 – 49, 35% had experience of at least one previous abortion, and in the age range 20 – 49, 41%. LÄS MER

5. Deficient bodies and divine interventions : women, midwives, and the medicalisation of childbirth - a gender perspective
Sammanfattning : Background In Sweden, one of the safest countries to give birth and to be born in, there is a trend towards increasing interventions during childbirth, and fewer women than ever give birth without having their labours induced or augmented, epidural analgesia, or caesarean section. While interventions at times are vital for a safe birth, there is a growing body of evidence demonstrating that an overuse of medical and technological interventions may have adverse effects on woman and child.
