11. Trajectories of Learning : Embodied Interaction in Change
Sammanfattning : This dissertation is about learning as changing understanding in social and situated activities. It takes part in the development of a reconceptualization of learning initiated within participationist perspectives. Multiparty interaction in situated activities is a primordial site for the exploration of human action and cognition. LÄS MER
12. Modeling the Role of Energy Management in Embodied Cognition
Sammanfattning : The quest for adaptive and autonomous robots, flexible enough to smoothly comply with unstructured environments and operate in close interaction with humans, seems to require a deep rethinking of classical engineering methods. The adaptivity of natural organisms, whose cognitive capacities are rooted in their biological organization, is an obvious source of inspiration. LÄS MER
13. Managing Interruptions in Manufacturing : Towards a Theoretical Framework for Interruptions in Manufacturing Assembly
Sammanfattning : The effect of interruptions from ICT systems on assembly workers in manufacturing is examined in this thesis, as is how the risks of errors, increases in assembly time, increased cognitive load and resultant stress can be mitigated, as well as ensuring that important new information is acted upon. To these ends, a literature study was conducted, followed by two studies using an experimental approach in an environment that simulated a manufacturing assembly situation, and used tasks designed to be representative of manufacturing assembly tasks. 14. Själens arkitektur : Subtil anatomi som upplevelse, förkroppsligande och självförståelse, 1875–2020
Sammanfattning : Contemporary forms of yoga and meditation, New Age-inspired practices, and alternative medicine share a conception of the body and mind as composed of “energy.” It depicts the soul, spirit, or consciousness as a form that adepts of spiritual practices can learn to “see” and “feel. 15. Learning physics with Controllable Worlds : Perspectives for examining and augmenting physics students' engagement with digital learning environments
Sammanfattning : In this thesis I present a collection of case studies involving small groups of participants using ‘Controllable Worlds’—i.e., a particular class of physics digital learning environment (DLE) including simulations, ‘microworlds,’ and educational games that provides users with control over manipulable virtual environments.
