    Sammanfattning : Extended Energy Loss Fine Structure (EXELFS) is the modulations occurring at the high energy side of the ionisation edges in electron energy loss spectra. This structure turns out to be correlated to the number, distance, and type of nearby atoms as well as the inelastic mean free path for the ejected electrons, and disorder in distances from the excited atom to the atoms in an atomic shell around it.
