11. Linear wave energy converter : Study of electromagnetic design
Sammanfattning : The thesis presents results from synchronous linear wave energy converters developed at Uppsala University. A study is done on closed stator slots and a study presenting offshore data focusing on the power absorption from a wave energy converter (WEC). LÄS MER
12. Gap Waveguide Technology- Electromagnetic Packaging and Transitions
Sammanfattning : The scarcity of available frequency bands for new wireless communication systems, as well as the growing need for higher capacity, motivates the current interest in moving upwards in frequency. The millimeter wave frequencyrange is very attractive to allocate potential commercial opportunities such as short range wireless communications that allow high-speed data/video transmission, and automotive radars for both driver assistance and increasedsafety. 13. Electromagnetic and Spin Properties of Hyperons
Sammanfattning : The study of hyperons improves our understanding of nature in multiple ways. The intrinsic properties of hadrons are not fully understood at a fundamental level. Hence, the electromagnetic properties of hyperons provide complementary information to that of the nucleon and therefore allow for a broader investigation of the structure of matter. LÄS MER
14. Probing the solar wind evolution with kinetic waves
Sammanfattning : Charged particles constantly stream outward from the Sun to fill the solar system. These particles, consisting mainly of protons and electrons, form a plasma called the solar wind. LÄS MER
15. Dispersion relations for extinction of acoustic and electromagnetic waves
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with physical limitations on scattering and absorption of acoustic and electromagnetic waves. A general dispersion relation for the extinction cross section of such waves is derived from the holomorphic properties of the scattering amplitude in the forward direction. LÄS MER
