11. Electrochemical monitoring of living cells
Sammanfattning : This thesis presents the utilization of electroanalytical methods for analysis of dynamic cellular processes such as exocytosis, intracellular redox reactions and cell surface interactions. Microchips have been designed and manufactured with the purpose of monitoring dopamine exocytosis from single or a small ensemble of PC12 cells. LÄS MER
12. On the fluid mechanics of electrochemical coating and spray painting
Sammanfattning : Finite-volume methods have been used for modeling of fluidflows involved in forced convection electrochemical coating androtating spray painting systems. Electrodeposition on a singlecircular cylinder under forced convection for Reynolds numbers10 and 200 was simulated. LÄS MER
13. Mathematical Models for Investigation of Performance, Safety, and Aging in Lithium-Ion Batteries
Sammanfattning : Rechargeable lithium-ion batteries have both the power and energy capabilities to be utilized in hybrid electric vehicles and other power demanding applications. However, there are obstacles primarily related to reliability in safety and lifetime. Additionally, there is still room for improvement in the battery performance. LÄS MER
14. Localized electrochemical impedance technique for the study of corrosion processes
Sammanfattning : A localized electrochemical impedance technique has beendeveloped based on a measure of the local a.c. potentialgradient in solution by a high-resolution probe. The probeconsists of a pair of microelectrodes or a single vibratingmicroelectrode with a tip size of about 10 mm. LÄS MER
15. Functional and Flexible Light-Emitting Electrochemical Cells
Sammanfattning : The introduction of artificial illumination has brought extensive benefits to mankind, and during the last years we have seen a tremendous progress in this field with the introduction of the energy-efficient light-emitting diode (LED) and the high-contrast organic LED display. These high-end technologies are, however, produced using costly and complex processes, and it is anticipated that the next big thing in the field will be the advent of a low-cost and “green” illumination technology, which can be fabricated in a cost- and material-efficient manner using non-toxic and abundant raw materials, and which features attractive form factors such as flexibility, robustness and light-weight.
