6. Electrochemical Studies of Aging in Lithium-Ion Batteries
Sammanfattning : Lithium-ion batteries are today finding use in automobiles aiming at reducing fuel consumption and emissions within transportation. The requirements on batteries used in vehicles are high regarding performance and lifetime, and a better understanding of the interior processes that dictate energy and power capabilities is a key to strategic development. 7. Electrochemical and microscopic analysis of chemical signalling in biological systems
Sammanfattning : Cellular communication is a prerequisite in multicellular organisms in order to survive. Many times, this communication occurs through the highly controlled and regulated release of chemical signals through a process known as exocytosis. LÄS MER
8. Characterizing ions in solution by NMR methods
Sammanfattning : NMR experiments performed under the effect of electric fields, either continuous or pulsed, can provide quantitative parameters related to ion association and ion transport in solution. Electrophoretic NMR (eNMR) is based on a diffusion pulse-sequence with electric fields applied in the form of pulses. LÄS MER
9. Atmospheric corrosion of Mg and MgAl alloys – characterization and mechanisms
Sammanfattning : The atmospheric corrosion of Mg and MgAl alloys was investigated. Corrosion tests were performed in the laboratory under controlled environment. CP Mg, AM50 and AZ91 samples were exposed at 95% RH and 22°C in the presence and in the absence of 400 ppm CO2 for 24 h to 672 h. The passive film was characterized by means of XPS, FTIR, AES and XRD. LÄS MER
10. Electrochemically etched pore arrays in silicon for X-ray imaging detectors
Sammanfattning : Digital devices have now been introduced in many X-ray imaging applications, replacing slowly traditional photographic films. These devices are preferred as they offer real time imaging, easy handling and fast treatment of the images. LÄS MER
