  1. 11. New opportunities provided by the Swedish electricity meter reform

    Författare :Fredrik Wallin; Erik Dahlquist; Eva Thorin; Peter Roots; David Natusch; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Nyckelord :automatic meter reading AMR ; advanced metering infrastructure AMI ; peak load; consumption patterns; visualize; consumption feed-back; added values; demand-based; tariffs; bottom-up modeling; web-based applications; TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP; Energy- and Environmental Engineering; energi- och miljöteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The reduction of the impact of energy consumption is a priority issue and a major challenge that concerns every country in the world. This is a complex task that needs to be tackled from several angles in the search for areas where optimizations and savings can be made. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Energy Scheduling of Electric Vehicles for Electricity Market Participation

    Författare :Pavan Balram; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; day-ahead market; EV aggregator; Electric vehicles; demand response; regulating power market; retailer planning;

    Sammanfattning : Global policy targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions has led to increased interest in electric vehicles (EV) and their integration into the electricity network. Batteries in EVs offer flexibility from the demand side that could potentially compete against generating resources for providing power system services. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Carbon utilisation for extended nitrogen removal and resource savings

    Författare :Tobias Hey; Avdelningen för kemiteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; primary sludge hydrolysis; carbon source; energy; resources; denitrification; environment; economy; volatile fatty acids; multiple pH point titration; wastewater treatment; activated sludge simulation.;

    Sammanfattning : A full-scale in-line primary sludge hydrolysis experiment was conducted in one out of four primary settlers at the Klagshamn Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) to test if the wastewater quality can be improved in terms of providing easily accessible carbon for possible pre-denitrification and the reduction of external carbon sources. The amount of easily accessible carbon produced, in the form of the volatile fatty acid (VFA), alkalinity and ammonium concentrations, was measured throughout the entire full-scale experiment at the outlet of the hydrolysis tank and that of the ordinary primary settler, which served as a reference line. 4. 14. Energy Export Opportunities from Kraft Pulp and Paper Mills and Resulting Reductions in Global CO2 Emissions

    Författare :Erik Marcus Kristian Axelsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Energy export; Heat integration; Energy savings; Kraft pulp and paper mill; Global CO2 emissions;

    Sammanfattning : With increasing energy prices and increasing demand for CO2-lean energy sources, energy savings in the pulp and paper industry become ever more relevant. Significant energy savings in kraft mills can be made by e.g. improved heat integration and installation of an energy-efficient evaporation plant. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Process Industry Energy Projects in a Climate Change Conscious Economy

    Författare :Anders Ådahl; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; process Integration; pulp mill; Nordic countries; energy market; climate policy; CO2; energy savings; biofuel;

    Sammanfattning : Most industrial process plants consume large amounts of energy (usually in the form of steam and electricity) to produce demanded goods, such as beer or paper. However, combustion of fossil fuels has negative external effects on the Earths climate. LÄS MER
