  1. 1. Advances in time–domain induced polarisation tomography : Data acquisition, processing and modelling

    Författare :Per-Ivar Olsson; Teknisk geologi; []
    Nyckelord :Tomography; Signal–to–noise ratio; Waveform; Duty–Cycle; induced polarisation; Electrical properties;

    Sammanfattning : What would you find below your feet – how do you find out? Perhaps you could look at a geological map, drill, or dig? That could work, but sometimes the maps are not detailed enough, and digging everywhere to find out is impractical. Imagine if you could develop a method that allows you to see straight through the ground, as x–rays through the body! To some extent, such methods already exist; you can for example send electric current into the ground that tells you what lies beneath when it returns. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Characterization of Hydrogeological Media Using Electromagnetic Geophysics

    Författare :Niklas Linde; Laust B. Pedersen; Max A. Meju; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Geophysics; Hydrogeophysics; radio magnetotellurics; ground penetrating radar; electrical resistance tomography; inversion; regularization; geostatistics; electrical anisotropy; fractured rock; Geofysik; Geophysics; Geofysik;

    Sammanfattning : Radio magnetotellurics (RMT), crosshole ground penetrating radar (GPR), and crosshole electrical resistance tomography (ERT) were applied in a range of hydrogeological applications where geophysical data could improve hydrogeological characterization. A profile of RMT data collected over highly resistive granite was used to map subhorizontal fracture zones below 300m depth, as well as a steeply dipping fracture zone, which was also observed on a coinciding seismic reflection profile. 3. 3. Loss Minimisation in Dynamic Food Processes

    Författare :Marcus Henningsson; Livsmedelsteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Livsmedelsteknik; Food and drink technology; Teknik; Technological sciences; CFD; dual plane ERT; ERT; waste minimisation; loss; milk; density; sensor fusion; multivariate calibration; electrical resistance tomography; dairy process; turbidity; conductivity;

    Sammanfattning : The overall aim of the present work was to reduce losses during product changes or during rinsing in continuous food processing, with particular attention to dairy plants. The concept of sensor fusion of common process instruments was implemented as a tool to monitor the milk and fat concentrations in a dairy processing line. LÄS MER

  4. 4. High Temperature Corrosion Behavior in Biomass- and Waste-Fired Boilers - Insights into catastrophic corrosion and corrosion mitigation techniques

    Författare :Julien Phother Simon; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; 3D tomography; TEM; Sulfur Recirculation; Waste; High-temperature corrosion; Biomass; Coatings; Stainless steel; Ni-based alloys; Deposits; KCl-induced corrosion;

    Sammanfattning : Carbon dioxide is contributing to the greenhouse effect and a significant part comes from the use of fossil fuels. Utilizing more renewable fuels is therefore a solution to decrease the net release of CO2 emissions to the atmosphere. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Phenomena in wire based multi-layer laser welding and hybrid deposition

    Författare :Jonas Näsström; Alexander Kaplan; Frank Brueckner; Sven Bengtsson; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Produktionsutveckling; Manufacturing Systems Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Several laser materials processing technologies using metal wire addition have been researched during the last decades. Especially in the field of joining, as well as in the field of Additive Manufacturing (AM), multiple major benefits have been reached, e.g. higher welding speeds and lower heat input. LÄS MER
