1. Optimal Control of Electric Bus Lines
Sammanfattning : Bus lines are inherently unstable systems, where any delay tends to be further amplified by the accrued passenger loads encountered at stops downstream. This self-reinforcing mechanism, when combined with the multiple sources of disturbances of an urban environment, can lead to the problem of bus bunching. LÄS MER

3. Towards sustainable personal mobility with electric cars and buses
Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to explore if, and then how, electric cars and buses can contribute to sustainable personal mobility. Electric vehicles have increasingly been seen as a potential sustainable solution for the transport sector due to their high energy efficiency, close to zero emissions in the use phase, and the possibility to be powered by electricity from renewable resources. 4. Sustainable Personal Road Transport : The Role of Electric Vehicles
Sammanfattning : Electric vehicles can play an important role in a future sustainable road transport system and many Swedish politicians would like to see them implemented faster. 5. Steering green buses : The opportunities and challenges of introducing renewable fuel in public transport
Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis is to compare and analyse the introduction of renewable fuel in the public transport sector, focusing on the challenges and opportunities encountered by involved stakeholders on the regional and local levels. The results contribute to answering three research questions: 1) How do organisational factors and local and regional contextual factors influence the introduction of renewable fuel? 2) What are the challenges and opportunities of using green public procurement as a policy tool to introduce renewable fuel in the public transport sector? 3) How do the challenges and opportunities regarding the introduction of renewable fuel differ depending on the type of renewable fuel? Four papers are included in the thesis. LÄS MER
